PBBM, nagpatawag ng command conference kaugnay sa pagbangga ng Chinese vessel sa barko ng Pilipinas
Transcript
00:00 The Marcos administration promised that it will not let the Chinese vessels cross the Philippine coast.
00:09 The Philippines has supported the new incident in the West Philippine Sea.
00:17 This is the surprise of Kenneth Paciente.
00:19 The Command Conference immediately called for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
00:25 to finish the work on the China Coast Guard Vessel, the Philippine Coast Guard Vessel
00:30 that was carrying out the resupply mission yesterday in Ayungin, Seoul.
00:33 According to Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro,
00:36 the government will not let this aggressive action of China cross the Philippine coast.
00:40 He also made it clear that this is a violation of international law.
00:44 The reason for the international protest is the country.
00:48 China has no legal right or authority to conduct law enforcement operations in our territorial waters
00:58 and in our exclusive economic zone.
01:01 We are taking this incident seriously at the highest levels of government.
01:08 After this, the Philippines immediately called for some officials of the Chinese Embassy to condemn the incident.
01:16 Chinese Ambassador Huang Shiliang has been summoned today
01:20 by Secretary Enrique Manalo of the Department of Foreign Affairs
01:25 to condemn the reckless and illegal act of the Chinese government.
01:30 Likewise, Philippine Ambassador to China Jaime Flor Cruz
01:36 has been instructed to convey the same to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
01:42 The Philippine Coast Guard will also conduct an investigation into the alleged incident.
01:46 It is targeted to be completed by the PCG within five days.
01:49 The report will be submitted to President Marcos Jr. and DOTR.
01:53 We will focus on determining the extent of damage or damages done or incurred by the vessels involved.
02:01 But at this point, it is very, very clear that the two incidents are violations of collision regulations.
02:11 The very regulations we Coast Guards are expected to enforce.
02:15 So we find it unfortunate or ironic that a fellow Coast Guard will violate the law.
02:23 It seems that China is trying to make a joke of the WPS Code of Conduct.
02:30 One day after the incident, they repeatedly violated international law and the jurisdiction of the Philippines in the so-called territory.
02:38 What kind of message is this signaling?
02:41 I want to know.
02:45 And we deserve undistorted answers, the truth, from the government of China.
02:52 Because once again, we repeat, they have neither jurisdiction nor authority to conduct any sort of governmental operations
03:01 within our 200 nautical mile exclusive economic zone.
03:07 And no justification they can give will stand the test of credence.
03:12 The NTFWPS said that the Philippines will not allow any aggressive actions by China
03:18 and that the Philippines will continue to violate the rights of the Philippines in the region.
03:22 That is a clear and unequivocal message being sent by the Philippines to China.
03:28 That we do not accept what is happening.
03:33 The Philippines was supported by the countries following the incident.
03:37 In the statement issued by the US State Department,
03:40 China violated international law in its action against the legitimate operation of the Philippines in the region.
03:46 They also restricted the possibility of activating the Mutual Defense Treaty in the event of an armed attack against the Philippines.
03:53 But the DFA said that the government still needs to study if it is time to restrict the MDT against China.
04:02 In the US, Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, Japan and the European Union also expressed their support for the Philippines.
04:09 This is something that the government should be thanking.
04:11 Kenneth Paciente, for the nation.
