00:00 Hey, Leah. How you doing?
00:02 You just scored. It's 1-0.
00:05 Are you joking?
00:06 No, it is. 86 minutes.
00:08 Awesome. Did you hear that?
00:10 Okay, that's great. My phone's in my pocket.
00:12 Oh, sorry. I'm sorry.
00:14 I've seen your earring as well.
00:15 Yeah, I know. I've got to leave it at home with the boys.
00:17 86 minutes, you're 1-0 up.
00:19 Oh, God. Okay. Did you see my face then?
00:21 Yes, I did.
00:22 That's the best news I've had all day.
00:23 How are you? You're busy, B.
00:25 I am. I am. I've had some time on my hands being injured.
00:28 So, yeah, I'm just living life a little bit.
00:30 First of all, how is the ACL?
00:31 Great. It's great.
00:33 There's ups and downs. It's a very, very long journey.
00:35 But it's been smooth so far.
00:37 The thing that not many people talk about is that a woman's body
00:40 needs to be more susceptible to injuring her ACL rather than men.
00:44 So, it's just...
00:46 I know. It seems that odds are stacked against us a little bit.
00:48 Remember that January, May, and May?
00:50 Yeah, yeah, yeah. After Christmas.
00:52 I get to Christmas and then after that I'm not putting a time frame on.
00:55 I just want to be ready.
00:56 Yes. Amazing. I love that.
00:57 Book. How did that go down?
00:59 Yeah, really well. I wrote it with my cousin as well.
01:03 So, it's a family affair.
01:05 Yeah, like I say, when I was younger, that's probably the book that I needed in my life.
01:10 So, hopefully for other young girls it'll be theirs.
01:12 Absolutely. And you met a guy this week named Will, I think.
01:16 Was he alright? Was he nice?
01:17 Yeah, he was lovely. He was lovely.
01:19 No, yeah. It was a really nice day.
01:22 I've seen him quite a lot recently.
01:24 We had a bit of a catch up, but it was good.
01:26 How was that day for your family?
01:28 Because I saw you with your grandparents and your mum and dad.
01:30 Yeah, yeah.
01:31 Did they cry?
01:32 My grandma said it was quite painful. She was holding in her tears.
01:35 So, yeah. It was just special. Days like that.
01:38 I'm glad it took me so long to get it because then I think I appreciate it a lot more.
01:42 Did you think as a kid you'd be getting an OBE for playing a game that you love?
01:46 No.
01:47 You'd give me goosebumps.
01:48 No. I'm not even sure I feel deserving of it now, to be honest.
01:51 You absolutely are.
01:52 Did you think that we could do what we've done in this country in regards to women's football?
01:56 No. I think if you'd have told me as a young girl where I stand today and the opportunities I have today,
02:01 I would not have believed you.
02:03 Maybe a silly question, but Pride of Britain, what's been your proudest moment?
02:07 This year.
02:08 You've had a lot, haven't you?
02:10 Yeah. I'd say the Euros are still up there, very fresh in my mind.
02:14 It feels like I need to do some more things and that would be great.
02:18 But be honest with me, the Euros. How many times have you watched it?
02:20 Over and over. And sometimes I need a little bit of a pick-me-up or sometimes I cry. I watch it.
02:26 You know, when you're on the tree, you're in the car, you're like, 'I don't expect to be happy.'
02:29 Yeah, luckily for me, it was documented quite a lot, so there's quite a lot to watch.
02:32 At the time when you do score, when you react and you win, do you think about what you're going to do?
02:37 Because that image is iconic.
02:39 Me? No. I cried. I mean, I'm useless. I'm useless.
02:43 And what happens next, babe? Hopefully back on the pitch in January.
02:45 Yeah, just keep my head down, keep working hard. And the women's game, I feel, has no ceiling at the minute.
02:51 Are we getting somewhere, though?
02:53 Yeah, I think so. I think the more popular we become, the louder the cries will be against us.
02:58 But if anybody knows anything, to spur us on is probably not the best form of attack.
03:04 Not where to go, though?
03:06 Absolutely. So far to go. But like I said, I don't actually think there's a ceiling for it.
03:10 It's just how far we can push it.
03:11 Do you ever get used to Frank Lampardo behind you? Just legends that you probably watched growing up?
03:16 Probably not, no. I probably won't ever get used to it either. But it's nice to be regarded in the same...
03:22 Yeah, as our counterparts.
03:23 Is there one player that you've met that you want to meet?
03:25 Ooh, great question. I'd like to...
03:29 Megan?
03:30 Who?
03:30 Megan Fofina?
03:31 Yeah. Oh, actually I'm not sure. I think we've crossed paths. But yeah, she's a good person to sit down and chat with.
03:36 We've got a long way to go in women's game, so minds like that I want to tap into.
03:40 Anyone else you want to see?
03:42 You know what? I'd love to sit down and have a chat with Bex after his documentary this week.
03:45 Oh, how good was it?
03:46 Yeah, so good. So good.
03:48 Did it inspire you to do anything?
03:49 I think it's just to carry on being me. He was unapologetically himself. I like that.
03:55 Yeah, and I think maybe a full part with Netflix for you next?
03:58 Alright, you give him a call.
04:00 Yeah, that would be great. Thank you so much.
04:01 Thank you. No worries.
04:02 Cheers.
