00:00Hello again, nice to see you.
00:02Oh, you a trouble, trouble, trouble.
00:04What you got? Yeah, you.
00:06Trouble with a capital D.
00:08I think it was you causing the trouble.
00:10I don't think so. I was professional. I didn't say anything.
00:12I had such a laugh with you two yesterday.
00:14That was good times, yeah.
00:16Because obviously the film is incredible.
00:18It blew me away. I hope you get all the awards.
00:20And obviously there's a lot of heaviness,
00:22but what I love is that you've brought so much light
00:24to it as well with the people.
00:26And it really is a family affair because you've got
00:28your brother directing, I think your dad is involved in the producing.
00:30He's the producer.
00:32You've got your sister as well.
00:34Was it just one big happy family?
00:36Yeah, it was a familial environment.
00:38And that was set by our director, Malcolm.
00:40And we all, I mean, Corey, Ray, Michael Potts,
00:42Mr. Samuel Jackson, Skyler,
00:44we were all in this together
00:46and we put our best foot forward
00:48to tell a story that deserved to be told.
00:50That we wanted to honour August Wilson.
00:52So we all had the same agenda.
00:54I absolutely love Samuel's character in this.
00:56Right, Uncle Doger, he needs something.
00:58Yeah, I want him to be my uncle.
01:00Yeah, exactly. Oh, good, good.
01:02I'm glad I came across.
01:04Is Samuel like that in real life? Does he keep you in check?
01:06Yes, that's exactly how you say it.
01:08He keeps you in check.
01:10And honestly, he's been very honest and open
01:12about his relationship to this role.
01:14He originated the Boy Willie role.
01:16So this story means a lot to him.
01:18It's an integral part of his life and his career.
01:20So it was an honour to be able to act alongside of him,
01:22taking over the role that he started in 1987.
01:24So between he and Michael Potts,
01:26I just felt such a warmth
01:28and an embrace of artistry
01:30that I needed to be my best self.
01:32And not to take away from the seriousness of the film,
01:34but I've got a fresh take, a hot take.
01:36I think you're going to make Boy Willie a heartthrob.
01:38Wow, that is a hot take.
01:40Because that's the first time I've heard that.
01:42Really?
01:44Everybody's like, why do you just don't shut up?
01:46Or just let your sister, leave her alone.
01:48So I'll take it.
01:50Maybe that's something about me though,
01:52because maybe I'm just attracted to that type of man.
01:54Oh, okay.
01:561936.
01:58So nice to see you again.
02:00Lots of love.
