00:02 - The Seattle Seahawks last night on Monday Night Football
00:06 to close out week number four, handing the G-Men
00:10 another very large loss this year.
00:13 24 to three, the final last night in favor of Seattle,
00:18 booked as a two and a half point favorite.
00:20 The Seahawks cover that number.
00:22 They have won three straight.
00:23 The Giants are one and three.
00:25 Donny, what was your overall assessment
00:28 of Monday Night Football?
00:30 - It pretty much went the way we talked about it yesterday.
00:33 It was like saying to ourselves,
00:34 okay, you're a home football team for the New York Giants,
00:36 a little bit extra time on a break,
00:38 but you're so bad on offense that you just can't be trusted.
00:41 So then we said, okay, let's just take the Seahawks here,
00:43 at least have some wide receivers
00:44 and somewhat quarterbacking and a running back
00:47 that is healthy and we'll see if they can do damage.
00:49 And then coming into this game, Ben,
00:50 the Seahawks were so damaged on that defense.
00:52 Like any team should be able to walk up and down
00:54 on that defense and let alone get 11 sacks against them.
00:57 They looked completely inept in the passing game
00:59 all the way through.
01:00 It was one of those performances
01:02 where we did think Seattle was going to win,
01:03 but did we think it was gonna be a laugher
01:05 in the second half?
01:06 And not because Seattle played great football,
01:08 because of how terrible the New York Giants are.
01:10 - DRS, there was a time on Sunday,
01:14 as we were all getting ready for the end of the Sunday slate,
01:16 but maybe keeping an eye on the early line
01:19 for Monday Night Football.
01:20 The Seahawks were a slight point and a half favorite.
01:23 It was minus 124 on the money line.
01:25 The line worked in favor of the Hawks last night
01:28 and the market worked correctly.
01:30 DRS, the New York Giants were the best underdog team
01:33 in the National Football League last year,
01:35 over-performing on expectation,
01:37 leading to a playoff appearance,
01:39 a road post-season victory,
01:41 and Brian Dayball in his rookie campaign
01:43 at the helm of the G-Men, winning NFL Coach of the Year.
01:47 They were 11 and three against the spread as an underdog,
01:51 winning seven of those 11 covers outright.
01:54 This year, Donnie, they are O and three
01:56 against the spread so far as an underdog.
01:58 They lost by 40 on opening night against the Cowboys.
02:01 They lost by 18, now 12 days ago,
02:04 two Thursdays ago in Santa Clara,
02:07 in another three-score margin of 21 points last night.
02:11 Donnie, not only are they O and three
02:13 against the number as an underdog,
02:15 one and three straight up so far this year,
02:18 they are not covering on average by the spread,
02:21 and they are O and four ATS all year,
02:23 by close to 17 points per game.
02:26 Not only are the Giants miserable at this point,
02:30 Donnie, they are far worse than even poor expectations.
02:33 Things are really, really bad for Big Blue.
02:36 Part of that is because Saquon Barkley
02:38 was not out there last night.
02:40 There is a stark difference in terms of points scored
02:43 per game when Saquon has been out there,
02:45 and is now six years playing for the New York Giants,
02:48 and what they do in terms of total offense,
02:50 about a 50-yard difference when Saquon is out there
02:53 in terms of the yardage the Giants' offense gains,
02:56 about a three-point difference on an average per game basis
03:00 when Saquon plays versus when he doesn't.
03:02 We know the injuries along that offensive line.
03:05 We know how costly that was for New York last night.
03:08 Daniel Jones was sacked 10 times.
03:10 Even Paris Campbell on a backwards lateral was sacked.
03:13 11 total sacks for Seattle's defense.
03:16 But Donnie, I didn't expect it to look that bad
03:19 last night for Big Blue.
