00:00 Well, you can see some of the damage that's been left here in Christie's Beach in the
00:06 wake of this wild storm that ripped through the state last night.
00:10 It started in the state's mid-north, hitting places like Port Augusta and Jamestown, then
00:16 moved through to Adelaide city centre where we saw some places in prospect with a house
00:21 losing its roof and then continued down south through Arbor Fall Park and places like here
00:28 in Christie's Beach and then continued on to McLarenvale where a lot of the state emergency
00:33 service are currently still working to clear some of the roads just like this one and help
00:38 people out with their calls for assistance.
00:41 So far the state emergency service says they've received 260 calls for assistance since 5.30
00:47 last night and they expect that number to continue to grow as people wake up and start
00:52 to notice the damage.
00:54 Now we were in Arbor Fall Park just earlier today and we spoke to one of the residents
01:00 after a huge tree had fallen on the front of their property during the night.
01:04 Here's what they had to say.
01:05 I mean we had all of the thunder and rain that probably everybody had, a bit of hail
01:10 and then this huge gust of wind came through so we raced outside going oh my gosh was that
01:16 a cyclone that came through and then we heard this huge big crash and obviously the tree
01:23 came down.
01:24 Thankfully for them there was no damage to their property and they were able to keep
01:28 their power as well but for more than 20,000 businesses and homes they're still without
01:35 power currently with more than 60 outages across South Australia.
01:40 SA Power Network is currently working to get people back up and running but you can still
01:46 expect that to take a few more hours.
