With the state election just over a week away, crime remains a dominant theme on the campaign trail. In a bid to bolster his government's law and order credentials, the Premier has unveiled a new youth remand centre. This move comes in response to a tough-on-crime pledge made by the opposition LNP, signalling that crime prevention will be a central focus in the lead-up to election day.

01:14The LNP also seizing on some Labor campaign material which doesn't explicitly mention

01:21They would rather hide behind blues, reds, pinks and purples rather than any other colour
01:27or branding that looks like the Labor Party.
01:30The Labor brand stands for doing what matters for Queensland and nobody in my team is ashamed
01:35of that.
01:36With the release of another poll over the weekend suggesting Labor will likely lose
01:41next month's election, the Premier was pressed about his political future.
01:47Stephen Miles confirmed if his government is turfed out and he's re-elected as the member
01:53for Marumba, he'll continue to serve as the local MP for the full four year term.
