01:34 And so I think that was kind of the motto going into

01:38 Well, can't get to 2-0 unless you get, you know,
01:40 you can't get to 3-0, I guess, if you can't get to 2-0.
01:43 And so every week's been 1-0 and always a new motive,

03:20 You were young when Lincoln Riley was recruiting you.
03:22 - Truthfully, no.

03:25 I don't even know if they made my top 12.
03:26 - Hmm, okay.
03:28 - Yes, sir.
03:29 - But I know you said it feels like God, you know,
03:32 led you here to this moment.
03:33 And does it really feel like, you know,
03:35 it's finally coming to fruition
03:37 when you have a game like this, you know,
03:38 that first deep ball that you catch?
03:40 - You know, I just, I kind of had a feeling pregame.
03:42 You know, I got out here,
03:44 I seen my mom pregame in the, you know,
03:46 on the Walk of Champions.
03:48 Teared up a little bit just for the simple fact of,
03:50 you know, I'm here.
03:52 This is my time.
03:53 This is my moment.

04:01 but for me, I mean, there's more work to be done.

04:04 - And he was kind of recalling or describing your recruitment.
04:10 He said it sounded like you were pretty close to OU,
04:13 but what was it about OU that kept him out of your top 12?
04:17 - You know, like I said, I think, you know,
04:20 God has his reasons for everything.
04:22 And as a family, personally,
04:25 I just didn't feel like OU was for me at that time.
04:28 And so, you know, I did what I could and I chose Texas
04:33 and ultimately now I'm here
04:35 and I wouldn't even change going to Texas
04:37 last year for anything.
04:38 I think I had an amazing experience.
04:40 I think I got what I needed out of it.
04:42 And I think it truly made me a better player
04:44 and a better human.
04:45 - And what was it about OU and the transfer portal
04:47 then that made you want to come here?
04:48 What was the calling or whatever?
04:51 - (laughs)
04:53 It's like, you know, just, you know,
04:55 you get a certain feeling about something
04:57 and, you know, you just keep praying, you keep praying,
05:00 you keep praying and talking to your family, you know,
05:02 and then at some point God, you know,
05:04 is going to point you in that direction.
05:06 And I truly believe that's what he did.

05:10 Coach V said you're faster than fast.

05:14 - When he says that, I've seen some track times.
05:16 What's your best track time?
05:17 What's your favorite number to recite
05:19 when somebody asks you how fast you are?
05:20 - You know, my best track time would be a 10.18.
05:24 When people ask me, I usually say 10.2,
05:26 just because throughout high school,
05:30 I've probably ran 10.2 a good 10 times, I would say.
05:35 And so that's just kind of where I've been at.
05:37 Obviously did a college track last year at Texas.
05:40 Loved it.
05:41 You know, got injured then,
05:43 didn't really have a successful track season,
05:47 I guess you could say,
05:48 definitely some some things learned throughout that as well.
