00:00 NBA season kind of feels like a new school year. So if the Mavs had a yearbook, what would you be?
00:05 Like best dressed, best eyes, most likely to be the president, or have your own TV show? Any ideas?
00:11 That's a really tough question. I feel like first of all I'm not allowed to answer that,
00:18 but I would just be like hopefully a good team player, a good classmate, comrade, whatever.
00:25 What would Luka be? I would say in a funny way a leader. Like you know he's obviously like
00:35 very very talented, but at the same time somebody who like wants to have fun and joke around.
00:40 Class clown? I didn't want to say clown.
00:42 Thanks.
00:50 You're a, for lack of a better term, an elder statesman now on this team. I mean as far as
00:56 teammates. Do you think it's going to be a challenge to, how big of a challenge do you
01:01 think it will be with eight new players basically? I mean you guys are about to go off to Europe on
01:07 this 12th day. I mean it's always a challenge when you have new players coming in obviously,
01:12 but I think we also have like a lot of experienced guys here that can help them out.
01:17 And you know obviously the practice time is also limited when you travel, but I think a travel like
01:22 this can also help and just bring the team together. And I think that's like one of the bigger
01:27 important and important things to come together as a team and everything else is solved by you
01:33 know the chemistry and being able to communicate and also listen to each other. Matthew, what are
01:39 your thoughts on the big guys? I'm right here. I'm sorry. What are your thoughts on the big guys
01:44 that's coming to the team this year? Rashad, Nadli and Grant? I think they will help us a lot. You know
01:51 Grant has proven to be a very valuable player. I've watched Derek the last couple of weeks
01:57 working out and his ability to finish around the rim, set good screens. You know he understands
02:01 the game really well. He's a great listener too and is willing to improve and learn. And Rashad
02:07 also like you know a very talented player has proven to be very effective. So I think it's going
02:12 to be really exciting to see how they all work together and also with who can be in the court.
02:16 What happened to this team last season? How much of a chip is there on y'all collective shoulders and
02:23 what gives you confidence that that was just an aberration? I mean you know obviously there's a
02:30 certain feeling of that chip on your shoulders because last year was obviously very disappointing,
02:34 but we want to move on from that and you know focus on this season. I think we have a lot of
02:39 talent and we have a lot to prove and to make up for. It's not going to be easy. You know the league
02:44 is really competitive and has a lot of good teams, but we believe in ourselves and we want to make up
02:50 for what happened last year.
