00:00 So I'm going to show something to the audience that may be a little
00:03 embarrassing to you.
00:04 I don't think it will be, because I think it's adorable."
00:06 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks
00:09 for the most interesting tidbits about one of our favorite
00:12 up-and-coming actors, Timothee Chalamet.
00:14 "Okay, let's go."
00:16 "What about the flat tire?"
00:20 Number 10.
00:21 His first pet.
00:23 Is Timothee Chalamet a dog or cat person?
00:25 Well, turns out he's more of a turtle person.
00:28 "And like, nobody's ever asked you about this, or talked to you about this."
00:33 "No, not really.
00:34 I don't think we pretend to be on Wendy Williams, but that's it."
00:37 "Why are you writing all this down?"
00:38 In an interview with W Magazine in early 2018, Chalamet talked a lot about his upbringing
00:43 and high school years, including revealing the name of his first pet, who was still his
00:47 pet at the time.
00:49 He was, and we hope still is, the proud owner of a turtle named Ertl.
00:53 Not the most original name, but we'll allow it.
00:56 "They need a last name.
00:58 Wait, what's our last name?"
00:59 "I don't, I've never thought about that, actually."
01:01 "Do we not have last names?"
01:03 When you think about it, it actually makes a ton of sense that Chalamet's first pet would
01:06 be something so small.
01:08 When you're growing up in Hell's Kitchen in NYC, you probably don't have a lot of room
01:12 for a larger animal.
01:14 "The city was my playground, and the subway was my babysitter."
01:17 Number 9.
01:19 He dated Madonna's daughter.
01:20 "How long did you two date?"
01:22 "Next question, I'm outta here."
01:24 Manhattan's Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School is one of the most prolific performing arts
01:29 schools in the country.
01:30 Most of you probably already knew that Chalamet attended the school, alongside Ansel Elgort
01:35 no less.
01:36 But you might not know another one of the school's famous alumni, or her connection
01:40 with Chalamet.
01:41 "You were dating Lola Chacon, daughter of."
01:46 Madonna's daughter, Lourdes Leon, spends some time at LaGuardia, and says that Timothee
01:50 Chalamet was her first boyfriend.
01:52 The pair actually began dating around 2013 when they were in high school.
01:57 Even post-breakup, Leon says that she has nothing but respect for the actor.
02:00 "Did Lola saw 'Call Me By Your Name'?
02:03 She hasn't seen it yet, but she's excited to.
02:06 She teased me about it."
02:07 Number 8.
02:08 He was in a Woody Allen movie.
02:10 "When that film comes out, if it comes out, that's gonna be really important to talk about."
02:15 If you're a Timothee Chalamet fan, there's a good chance you've seen most of his movies.
02:19 But while you can watch this one now, for a while it was difficult to see.
02:23 "It's not always a comfortable trip."
02:25 "Tell me about it."
02:28 In 2018, Chalamet completed work on a movie called A Rainy Day in New York from director
02:33 Woody Allen.
02:34 The end of the film corresponded with the #MeToo movement, during which Dylan Farrow,
02:39 the adopted daughter of Allen, accused the director, again, of sexually abusing her when
02:43 she was younger.
02:45 Because of the allegations, the movie's release was delayed.
02:48 For his part, Chalamet, along with many of his co-stars, donated their salaries to Rain
02:52 and other organizations.
02:53 "He said, 'I want to be worthy of standing shoulder to shoulder with the brave artists
02:58 who are fighting for all people to be treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.'"
03:02 Number 7.
03:03 He's the first male British Vogue cover star.
03:06 "You all represent the zeitgeist, a moment in history, a moment in time."
03:10 At a young age, Timothee Chalamet quickly became one of the most celebrated actors of
03:14 his generation.
03:15 But he's been making history in the fashion world as well.
03:18 "I've always loved the idea that, you know, you can appropriately express yourself through
03:23 clothes."
03:24 In 2022, Chalamet became the first male solo cover star of British Vogue.
03:29 In the editor's letter for the October edition of the magazine, Edward Enningfel wrote that
03:33 he previously hedged on having a solo male cover star.
03:36 "Vogue should celebrate women first," he wrote, and he didn't want to force the moment.
03:41 Highlighting Chalamet's talent and modern masculinity, he said that the actor felt like
03:45 the perfect person to make magazine history.
03:48 "Who is it who sort of represents now, who is sort of loved by people of all ages, and
03:54 somebody who was so first and great at the idea of imagery and translating characters."
03:59 Number 6.
04:00 Bagel Boy
04:01 "Bagels are about 95% of this diet right here.
04:04 They keep me alive."
04:05 We knew he was a good actor, but who knew he was generous too?
04:09 The King is probably one of the lesser-known Timothee Chalamet movies, but there was one
04:13 pretty big bright spot—the premiere.
04:15 "When a man is pivotal as this one should be amply equipped to penetrate the fog of
04:19 time elapsed.
04:21 No."
04:22 On the night of the first screening of the Netflix film, Chalamet turned up with a slew
04:25 of delicious bagels to hand out to the huge crowd of fans who showed up to support him.
04:30 Hey, some of them might have been standing there waiting all day.
04:33 Supporting the people who support you will never be a bad idea.
04:36 "What matters is that you know in your hearts that today you are that kingdom united.
04:42 You are England.
04:43 Each and every one of you.
04:44 England is you."
04:46 Number 5.
04:47 He learned how to drive on Beautiful Boy
04:54 One of the first times we saw Timothee Chalamet was in Interstellar.
04:58 In that film, he has to drive a pickup truck through a field.
05:01 At the time, however, Chalamet did not have his license and didn't really know how to
05:05 drive a car.
05:06 You can thank Matthew McConaughey for helping him through it.
05:15 You told me to keep driving.
05:18 I guess that answers the "Oh, if I asked you to drive off a cliff" scenario.
05:22 Chalamet wouldn't learn to drive until years later on the set of 2018's Beautiful Boy.
05:27 That's a little bit later than most, seeing as he was in his early 20s.
05:31 But his role in the movie required some driving scenes that made the learning curve necessary.
05:35 Not that driving through a cornfield didn't, but to each their own.
05:44 Number 4.
05:45 His penchant for The Office
05:46 We all have our favorite sitcoms, but we would be willing to bet that The Office sits at
05:51 the top of a lot of your lists.
06:01 If that's the case, count yourself in the same group as Timothee Chalamet.
06:05 As a kid, he watched the beloved mockumentary on Netflix and developed an obsession.
06:09 Such an obsession, in fact, that he was a bit nervous about working with his Beautiful
06:13 Boy co-stars.
06:27 Steve Carell and Amy Ryan, who played Michael Scott and Michael's love interest Holly on
06:31 the show respectively, both starred alongside Chalamet.
06:35 Apparently he was incredibly nervous about meeting the duo.
06:48 How adorable.
06:50 Number 3.
06:51 His appearance in Law & Order
06:56 Timothee Chalamet made his film debut in 2014 with three titles, Men, Women, and Children,
07:01 Worst Friends and Interstellar.
07:03 But he actually appeared on our screens a little bit earlier than that.
07:11 In 2009, a very young Chalamet got his screen acting start on an episode of Law & Order.
07:16 In season 19, Chalamet had a small guest role on an episode called "Pledge."
07:21 He played the part of a young boy who was murdered alongside his housekeeper.
07:25 He's not in much of the episode, but he does have a few lines.
07:29 Maybe avoid this one though, if you don't do well with graphic subject matter.
07:38 Number 2.
07:39 He didn't have to audition for Wonka
07:47 Timothee Chalamet is getting to the point in his career where he may no longer have
07:50 to audition for certain roles.
07:52 But when it comes to singing and dancing, we'd think the filmmakers would want to make
07:56 sure they were getting the right man for the job.
07:58 For the film Wonka, however, director Paul King has said that Chalamet was his only choice.
08:07 He didn't have Chalamet audition, and didn't even really need to do much to check that
08:11 he could sing and dance.
08:13 With that said, the actor's old high school musical videos are all over the internet.
08:18 We certainly hope that King saw some of the videos of Chalamet rapping, and that's what
08:22 got him the role.
08:31 Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
08:35 Columbia Dropout.
08:36 He gave it the old college try, but no dice.
08:47 Dual Citizenship.
08:48 You're looking at a proud American and French citizen.

09:16 Number 1.
09:18 He was a basketball mascot.
09:24 He might be playing pick-up games with the likes of Adam Sandler now, but Timothee Chalamet
09:28 wasn't always picked first in gym class.
09:31 In middle school, Chalamet tried out but didn't make the cut for the school basketball team.
09:35 The result?
09:36 He ended up being the mascot instead.
09:42 While he admitted, as most costume wearers do, that it was very hot inside the suit,
09:47 Chalamet also said in an interview with W Magazine that he'd be willing to give it
09:51 another try if acting doesn't work out.
09:53 For his sake, we hope it does.
