Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb broke down Geirean Hatchett's starting debut.

00:00 - How did Garen Hatchett grade out?
00:02 And I noticed his brother replaced him at one point
00:05 in the first half.
00:06 Is it hard to keep track of the Hatchetts
00:07 when you're doing the same position with those guys?
00:09 - Nope, long hair, short hair.
00:10 So they're really easy to find.
00:12 You know, one's a little bit shorter than the other one.
00:14 No, they're doing good.
00:15 You know, for Garen, it was just great to see a guy
00:18 that worked for a long time, been in this program,
00:22 you know, good player,
00:24 trying to get his tool set completely put together.
00:26 And, you know, for Garen,
00:27 he's getting a lot better in pass protection, you know,
00:30 'cause in run game, he's a dominant player.
00:32 He can be a factor.
00:34 Just seeing him becoming more of a complete
00:36 offensive lineman has been really fun to see.
00:39 - You've had to move around pieces on the offensive line.
00:43 How would you assess so far where they're at right now?
00:45 And how much has that obviously been huge
00:47 for Michael having enough time to do what he does?
00:49 - Yeah, you know, hats off to that room and Coach Huff
00:52 doing a great job of, you know,
00:55 I think what you want out of those rooms
00:58 is the ability to be ready before bad things happen, right?
01:03 And so if you're sitting there and you're reactive
01:06 as an offense or an offensive line, you know, room,
01:09 you're probably gonna have problems
01:10 when trouble hits the road a little bit there.
01:13 So for our guys to be able to step in,
01:14 I definitely wasn't surprised,
01:16 but I think that they're starting to gel now
01:19 a little bit better.
01:19 And, you know, we were feeling really good
01:21 when Julius went in and replaced Teo
01:24 and, you know, then that changes right away.
01:28 But just being able to keep the left side intact
01:30 with Nate and Troy, I think helps a lot.
01:33 And then Parker was such a presence,
01:35 both at guard and center all camp,
01:38 that I think that that part, you know,
01:40 when you look at it, you're like, okay,
01:41 three fifths of it is pretty solid.
01:44 And then you throw Roger in there,
01:45 it's really just dealing with a right guard situation.
01:48 So I think they're coming along really quickly.
01:51 I think that there's things that, you know,
01:52 Parker obviously brings to the table
01:54 that, you know, he has strengths
01:56 that, you know, compliment our room really well.
