00:00 Here's today's Derbyshire Times Video Bulletin.
00:03 A Derbyshire business will be appearing on a new BBC show today, shining a light on the
00:08 world of antiques.
00:09 Tin Man Scrap will be appearing on Village French Farmhouse, a new series which starts
00:14 today at 4.30pm on BBC1.
00:17 The series will follow three antiques dealers who head across the channel to a farmhouse
00:22 on a buying trip in the region's best antiques markets and compete to sell their French finds
00:26 online in a day.
00:28 Melissa Drabble from Tin Man Scrap in Dovehole said "It was great to be part of a new series
00:33 and a real eye-opener to see how French antiques differ from English ones.
00:38 For many years, Tin Man Scrap has been collecting treasures that other people have been throwing
00:41 away."
00:42 Melissa said "We see value where others don't, so we buy something, do it up and
00:47 sell it on."
00:49 Now it may seem like it's some time away, but Chatsworth House has already revealed that
00:53 the stately home will be sparkling with Christmas magic and its transformation into the Palace
00:57 of Advent.
00:58 Sights, sounds and scents of the festive season will fill 24 themed rooms at the stately home
01:04 from November 4th.
01:05 Visitors will be able to travel under archways adorned with candy canes, homemade Christmas
01:10 stockings and mistletoe, wander through snowflake showers and a glittering Christmas tree brooch
01:14 forest and get caught up in the hustle bustle of Santa's workshop with elves and a giant
01:19 exploding cracker.
01:21 The celebration continues in the garden where an illuminated light and sound trail will
01:25 embrace some of Chatsworth's best-loved garden landmarks, including the historic cascade,
01:29 whose 24 stone steps will be transformed into an illuminated, interactive musical instrument
01:34 that visitors can play, the giant keys lighting up to the sound of handbells.
01:39 A spectacular light show will transform the house into a giant Advent calendar.
01:44 Created by Derbyshire-based digital artist Illuminos, the light installation will animate
01:49 24 Christmas scenes emerging from 24 windows on the south facade of the house.
01:54 These will reflect the Christmas scenes within the house as well as Chatsworth's extensive
01:58 collection of art and artefacts.
