Matt Rhule on the quarterback situation
Transcript
00:00 Here's today's Husker Max Practice Report brought to you by Tracy's Collision Center
00:05 on 1499.3 KLIN.
00:08 Husker football head coach Matt Rule gave an injury update on starting quarterback Jeff
00:12 Sims.
00:13 I'm not sure what Jeff's status will be for the game.
00:15 He's progressing.
00:16 As you guys know, Thursday for us is a walk-through day.
00:18 Friday will be a full practice day.
00:20 So I know he feels like he's getting better.
00:21 He's moving around and stuff.
00:22 So we'll see how he does tomorrow.
00:24 Backup Chubba Purdy suffered a minor injury earlier in the year, but Rule said he's getting
00:28 much better.
00:29 He had some plays last night where he pulled it down and ran.
00:31 So he looked good.
00:33 So I think he's probably not back 100 percent, but I don't know if anybody is during football
00:36 season to be honest.
00:37 Rule said he was happy with Heinrich Hartberg's performance against Colorado when he came
00:41 in relief for Sims.
00:43 I like the way he took the field last week.
00:44 He went out there excited to play and ready to go, even though it was sort of the end
00:48 of the game.
00:49 It was an opportunity for him to play.
00:50 He hasn't really played very much.
00:52 So he's excited to get out there.
00:53 I think he's all week been confident to kind of take the things we're asking him to do
00:57 and run with them.
00:58 For this Huster Max Practice Report, I'm Matt McMaster.
