00:07 the European Commission President gave her annual State of the Union address at the European
00:11 Parliament in Strasbourg. She detailed further financial and military support for Ukraine
00:16 and she unveiled an anti-subsidy investigation into electric vehicles from China.
00:25 Federal markets are now flooded with cheaper Chinese electric cars and their price is
00:32 kept artificially low by huge state subsidies. This is distorting our market and as we do
00:39 not accept this distortion from the inside in our market, we do not accept this from
00:49 the outside.
00:51 This was von der Leyen's last State of the Union speech before European Parliamentary
00:56 elections in June, which will precede the creation of a new European Commission, the
01:00 EU's executive body.
