00:18Multiple key players such as Stellantis and Valeo have been cutting jobs and relocating
00:22overseas in search of cheaper labor.
00:25And on top of that, cheap Chinese electric vehicles have flooded the EU market over recent
00:30years and have been driving down prices.
00:33In retaliation, the EU Commission wants to impose hefty tariffs on Chinese electric cars.
00:40But all of the workers interviewed agreed that this is not the way to go.
00:45Taxes is a kind of economic war, financial war, and this is for sure no solution.
01:03According to the labor unions, nearly 70,000 jobs have been lost within the automobile
01:08industry in France since 2012.
01:11These bleak numbers are felt all across Europe.
01:28On Friday, a nationwide protest is scheduled to take place, this time in Italy, with multiple
