00:02 Hi Vogue, it's Ariana Grande,
00:06 and I am here today to walk you through
00:09 some of my skin prep and do a hopefully cute makeup look.
00:14 I'm gonna start with the Sarah Ford Biocell Oxygen Serum.
00:19 Sarah's been doing my skin for a couple of years now.
00:22 She really transformed the texture of my skin.
00:27 It's so soft and smooth, and I still have breakouts
00:32 all the time when I'm using a lot of makeup on set,
00:34 but it keeps my skin as clear as possible
00:39 and non-reactive as possible, so I'm very obsessed.
00:44 Next, I'm going to use La Mer moisturizer,
00:47 and I'm going to mix it with some SPF.
00:51 Growing up in Florida, I spent a lot of time in the sun.
00:55 I think that's probably where some of my discoloration
00:58 and my freckles and everything comes from.
01:00 It's important to protect your skin as much as possible
01:08 when you're using so much makeup.
01:09 Clearly, I wear a lot of makeup.
01:11 I'm sure everyone's gonna be like, "Who?"
01:14 Next, I'm going to use R.E.M. Beauty Under Eye Cooling Balm.
01:17 This is one of my favorite products we have.
01:19 This has my favorite texture in the world.
01:23 It's super cool.
01:25 And plumping, so it fills out any little fine lines
01:30 and creates such a smooth base for your makeup.
01:35 I'm also gonna use these Shiseido eye patches.
01:38 Which way are these supposed to go, world?
01:42 Because I do them this way, but I have to be wrong.
01:47 At four in the morning, I'm always with my headphones
01:52 doing my meditation in the car,
01:53 and then I get ready for a day on set.
01:56 So they've been on for a good four hours now,
02:00 so I'm gonna take these off.
02:01 Now I'm gonna get into my makeup.
02:03 The first thing I'm going to use
02:06 is our brand new R.E.M. Beauty Sweetener Foundation.
02:09 I'm using the shade Light 8NW.
02:12 I'm gonna use a pump and a half.
02:20 Next, I'm gonna use Sweetener Concealer.
02:23 My shade is Light 4G.
02:25 And I'm gonna get ready to set
02:27 with this Anastasia Vanilla Setting Powder.
02:31 I like to set pretty quickly after I apply.
02:34 I just try to make sure that nothing could possibly move.
02:38 I'm gonna go a little bit out of order
02:48 and start to fill in my eyebrows,
02:50 'cause I'm sure they're probably driving you crazy too.
02:53 I am currently like half Glinda.
02:55 I've been bleaching my eyebrows for a year now,
02:58 and I definitely need to touch them up.
03:00 I'm gonna fill them in with this MAC Eyebrow Styler
03:04 in the shade Fling.
03:06 I like to make the ends really short
03:10 and kind of shave them and ruin them,
03:14 and then draw the shape I like,
03:17 which is more of a like kind of straight
03:20 and lifted Audrey Hepburn-ish shaped brow.
03:25 So I'm gonna try to do that.
03:28 I kind of have eyebrows now.
03:34 I don't know what I'm gonna do next.
03:36 I feel like I'm going in a strange order today,
03:38 but I'm just gonna go with the flow
03:41 and we'll figure it out together.
03:43 I started doing family theater and community theater
03:47 in Boca Raton, Florida, which is crazy,
03:50 when I was like eight years old,
03:52 and I always associated each character I played
03:55 with a different makeup kit.
03:57 So when I was Annie, I remember using a different blush
04:02 or a different, like, even though I was eight
04:05 and there was so minimal makeup,
04:06 that was always a really fun thing to me.
04:08 And then in music, I don't know,
04:09 like a different look for each song and video.
04:12 It became such an important piece of the puzzle
04:14 and it's such an important part of being an artist
04:18 and of storytelling.
04:19 And also from watching drag, I love drag so much.
04:23 It is so inspiring to me.
04:25 When I was on Broadway doing "13,"
04:28 I used to go afterwards to like see the queens
04:31 and sometimes I would end up singing.
04:33 And that was just a really joyous
04:36 and important part of my life.
04:38 I'm going to use this contour.
04:40 It says Nuria too,
04:42 because I stole this from my makeup artist.
04:44 I have a massive forehead to begin with
04:48 and my hairline is sliding back more and more every day.
04:52 So I have to contour it more and more as time goes on.
04:57 I'm going to do my little button nose trick that I like.
05:10 And then I'm going to highlight
05:13 using our R.E.M. Beauty Miss Mercury highlight.
05:15 I'm not flipping you off, but maybe, you know?
05:18 I was always fascinated by Audrey Hepburn
05:27 and Marilyn Monroe because you could tell
05:30 that they were doing these makeup tricks
05:32 before anyone really had it figured out yet.
05:35 You look at like Audrey's gorgeous brows that she drew
05:38 and the way she did her lipstick,
05:40 like slightly like over here.
05:42 And then Marilyn had her own tricks.
05:44 It's just, and I think she used to use Vaseline
05:46 as highlight back then.
05:48 It's just so cool.
05:49 It's always fascinated me.
05:50 I love, I've always loved makeup.
05:52 I don't know what I am doing.
05:54 This is the most discombobulated makeup video
05:57 on Vogue's channel.
05:59 I'm going to do Bobby Brown.
06:00 I'm going to take this pink that is over here,
06:02 this, that one, and just kind of
06:08 my whole lid basically, but also my whole face.
06:12 One of my favorite things to do is to create
06:16 like a 60s looking cat eye.
06:19 And I'm going to use our multi-use eye stick
06:22 in Intergalactic.
06:23 I'm really concerned about making sure
06:26 you guys are seeing everything.
06:28 And in the process of doing so,
06:30 I can't see a goddamn thing I'm doing.
06:33 I'm just coloring like a four-year-old,
06:38 but it will come together, trust me.
06:40 My next step is going to be blush,
06:44 and I'm going to use Dior Rosy Glow.
06:47 Something I do with my blush that also makes no sense
06:51 is I like go in my eyebrows and my this
06:55 and kind of everywhere.
06:57 Something else that I fell in love with recently
07:01 is doing like a shadowy version of a cat eye
07:05 instead of a liquid line.
07:06 Back to the Bobby Brown.
07:08 I'm going to mix that guy and this one.
07:10 Oh my God, I'm allowed to use this.
07:11 I just found out.
07:12 We have hope.
07:14 I feel like my relationship to beauty has changed
07:22 so much over the years,
07:24 especially because I started so young,
07:29 you know, being exposed to so many voices at a young age.
07:33 And especially when people have like things to say
07:38 about your appearance and stuff at a young age,
07:40 it's like really hard to know what's worth hearing or not.
07:45 But you know, when you're 17, you don't really know,
07:48 you don't know that yet.
07:49 I, over the years, used makeup as a disguise
07:54 or as something to hide behind
07:56 and more and more and more hair,
07:58 more and more thicker, the eyeliner, the whatever.
08:01 And that can be so beautiful at times.
08:03 And I still do have love for it.
08:06 I'm doing mascara.
08:07 I have an appreciation for it.
08:09 But I think as I get older,
08:13 I don't love that being the intention behind it anymore.
08:17 I think of it as self-expression now
08:19 and accentuating what is here.
08:21 Our relationships to beauty are so personal.
08:24 Like we're here talking about beauty secrets.
08:26 Isn't the secret that we all just want to feel our best
08:29 and be loved.
08:32 Full transparency as a beauty person, as I do my lips,
08:36 I've had a ton of lip filler over the years and Botox.
08:40 I stopped in 2018 'cause I just felt so too much.
08:45 I just felt like hiding, you know?
08:50 Didn't expect to get emotional.
08:54 Take 300.
08:59 No, for a long time, beauty was about hiding for me.
09:05 And now I feel like maybe it's not.
09:07 Since I stopped getting fillers and Botox,
09:10 and maybe I'll start again one day, I don't know.
09:11 To each their own.
09:12 Whatever makes you feel beautiful, I do support.
09:14 I know for me, I was just like, oh.
09:16 I want to see my well-earned cry lines and smile lines.
09:21 I hope my smile lines get deeper and deeper.
09:26 And I laugh more and more.
09:27 And I just think aging is like such a,
09:31 it can be such a beautiful thing.
09:32 Now, might I get a facelift in 10 years?
09:36 Might, yeah.
09:38 But these are just thoughts that I feel like
09:41 we should be able to discuss
09:43 if we're sitting here talking about beauty secrets.
09:45 Fuck it, let's lay it all out there.
09:47 Juicy tubes.
10:01 Something I do, and that's insane,
10:03 but I use my lip stain and then I put gloss
10:05 and then I wipe it off so it looks like
10:06 I actually have pigment in my lips, which I don't.
10:08 I'm gonna use Pink Razor instead.
10:10 It's a little more fair.
10:12 Mod Vanilla, my favorite.
10:17 Love it so much, I actually do love it so much.
10:19 Fragrance is so important to me.
10:21 It's one of my favorite things to work on.
10:23 I saw Hailey Bieber use my product in her video,
10:26 and I brought hers to mine because I love this lip mask.
10:30 It's so good.
10:31 This is the Watermelon,
10:32 but I think the Birthday Cake is my favorite.
10:35 I'm gonna make this line a little heavier
10:36 'cause I know that's what the children want.
10:38 When I did Drag Race, Ru came out
10:41 to come sit at the judging panel.
10:44 She was like, "Miss Grande, I love your never-ending
10:49 "stream of PR packages that are constantly arriving."
10:54 And I was like, "Oh my God, I'm so sorry.
10:57 "Do you want it to end?
10:58 "It can end if you want it to."
11:01 And he was like, "No, I really mean it, I love it.
11:04 "And you created the perfect chocolate brown eye pencil."
11:09 And I was like, "Oh, I can and will die now."
11:13 That was the best moment of my makeup career so far.
11:18 I'm gonna set with Fenty Setting Spray.
11:20 They don't sell this anymore.
11:22 That is it.
11:26 I think we did a pretty and pink cat eye moment today.
11:31 We had a little therapy session in the middle,
11:34 talked about beauty inside and out.
11:36 And I'm just sending everyone so much love.
11:38 Thank you for watching.
11:39 Have a beautiful day.
