00:00 Hi everyone, this is Alia Bhatt and today I'm going to walk you through my daily beauty
00:10 slash skincare routine and also take you through my go-to glam. I love my makeup to also just
00:19 look like great skin. So you can call it Skinny Cup. My first step, cleansing. I'm going to
00:25 go with this cleansing balm. It is my current obsession. My sister being my number one,
00:36 I think, skincare guru. She's the reason I have skincare in my life in the first place.
00:44 I usually wake up very like sort of puffy in the morning. Icing really helps get away,
00:51 you know, take away that puffiness and it has other benefits as well. It prevents like
00:55 acne marks and stuff, keeps your skin really lovely and tight and genuinely just makes
00:57 you feel fresh and good. So I literally dump my face in ice. So here goes. And then I come
01:05 up and then I go back inside. Okay. Immediately, like all the blood rushes to my face. I feel
01:15 like all pink and fresh and like ready to take on the day. The next step is my moisturizer.
01:21 I love this moisturizer. It's everything my skin needs. I would take like four to five
01:30 pumps. Then after my moisturizer, I would go in with sunscreen. Very important. I like
01:37 to go in with a smiley face. I remember when just after I had given birth, the first three
01:46 months, that time your life is so dedicated to just nurturing your baby, caring for your
01:52 baby, feeding your baby. I realized my ritual to myself, which is doing my skincare, taking
01:57 care of my hair. It literally was the only time that I could take out for myself. You
02:02 know, in those months, I mean, I would just continuously apply lip balm in my life, whether
02:07 I'm doing my skincare or not. I'm obsessed with it. I'm also wearing an Aura ring if
02:13 you've noticed. So, I've been through all the fitness devices. Okay. I'm a fitness device
02:19 enthusiast. You can put it that way. Aura has been the one that has stuck for most because
02:25 I love wearing rings and I think it's been most accurate to monitor my sleep. I think
02:30 we all understand that sleep is the most important part of your life in terms of your recovery
02:38 and longevity. My next step would be, I will use foundation. Even if I'm going out for
02:43 date night brunch with my girls, I just don't have the bandwidth and time to just like apply
02:49 foundation and stuff like that. I go for skin tints and I like to go for skin tints that
02:53 have some SPF in it. Also, yeah, I do have this thing where I use my hands. I don't use
02:58 brushes when I'm applying any of my tints on my face. I just feel like I get a more
03:03 even finish. I like to mix that with a little bit of an illuminating primer. I use this
03:15 NARS creamy concealer. I have this little assistant guy who's been following me for
03:20 quite a few months now. I'm being friendly. I'm obsessed with picking my pimples and that's
03:28 why as a punishment I got this mark. So, I would not recommend it at all my friends.
03:34 I'm going to cover a little bit more. My reference point of makeup when I was growing up was
03:43 just my mom, what she would do. She would over line her eyes a lot with kajal. Like
03:50 all the way to the side. I'm like, why are you doing that? And she said, because I have
03:53 tiny eyes. But what I took away from that was, you don't need to do too much. Post that,
03:58 I would go in with powder. So, I go for like a lovely translucent powder. This is the Hourglass
04:03 powder. It's just rosy drops. This is just one layer by the way. I do apply blush as
04:17 well but I like to build this into the skin. My goal always when I do my makeup is to basically
04:23 look like I have no makeup on. So, I first go in with a cream colour base. My go-to colour
04:30 palette is always pinks and light browns. I love this palette. It's the Too Faced palette.
04:39 I've had it for, I don't even know how many years. I kind of like really old and it's
04:44 like chipping. I move a lot in this pink zone. After that, I would go in with this and I
04:54 would mix this a little bit. I'm obsessed with putting this under my eye. Like I feel
04:59 very often when I work with a new makeup artist, I always make them do that. I'm like, can
05:04 you put it under my eye as well? Whatever you're putting on the lid, you need to put
05:06 underneath. I don't put eyeliner. I believe I have hooded eyes. So, for me, my intention
05:12 is always to open up my eyes as much as possible. And then I would just go for like a little
05:17 lighter, shinier peaches and cream and nectar.
05:24 Next would be brows. This is my favourite part. I started my career with a film called
05:28 Student of the Year and I had a makeup artist who is the makeup maestro, I would say, of
05:34 Indian cinema. And he on day zero told me, do not touch your brows. So, I said, I'm not
05:41 going to touch it, promise. And 10 years later, we just did a film together again. And for
05:46 that film, he changed my brows. He said, okay, now I'm going to shape them a little bit more
05:51 because from playing a girl, I was playing a woman. You know, this character needed me
05:55 to be a little bit more mature. So, he said, now we'll shape it. And literally, I did not
05:59 touch my brows for those 10 years.
06:04 I use the Benefit. After he shaped it for me, I mean, of course, there was a lot of
06:08 like, whenever I needed to do any cleaning and stuff like that, just literally would
06:12 clean bits that would come underneath, like, that would be growing all over the place.
06:17 That's what I would do. A lot of people in fact, even made fun of my brows initially,
06:21 being like, why can't she do something about her brows?
06:25 The weirdest place I've done my makeup was literally sitting in like a public bathroom
06:30 in a random toilet and just lock the door and add my makeup bag. And I just sat there
06:34 and did because there were a lot of people outside, there was a wedding going on or something.
06:38 So, I literally sat on the pot and did my makeup. But I was quick. So, it was finished
06:43 in like 10 minutes.
06:44 Very often, I do not do mascara and I just curl my lashes.
06:49 I actually do have really lovely long lashes. Like my husband, you should see his lashes.
06:55 He's got like beautiful long lashes. And then when my daughter was born, I was like, check
07:01 her eyes, check her eyes. Does she have lovely long lashes? And she does, touch wood.
07:07 Charlotte Tilbury, Pillow Talk.
07:15 I would now go in again with my concealer.
07:25 I'm going to contour. I use again, the Hourglass. Contour is more about have fun in the end,
07:32 you know, like it's not about like, I don't think it's as specific and technical for me.
07:38 This part of the process just really feels nice. I feel my jaw just like cinching in
07:44 whenever I do this. Not sure whether it's helping but it just feels great. And I just
07:49 like go all over.
07:52 I go back with my powder. So, you know, this happens to me a lot. I can't find my brush
07:56 here. I just like drop my brush down. Because a lot of the times I'm just so distracted
08:01 because I'm like singing and literally like, and I listen to nice music, Punjabi rap, Punjabi
08:06 like hit songs, enjoy myself. So, it like tends to get a little chaotic. Some of the
08:12 songs, Punjabi songs that you definitely must listen to if I have to recommend. Number one
08:16 would be Manmohi Chaan, which is by this lovely artist called King. He also did a collaboration
08:22 with Nick Jonas, which is also a lovely version. Checks by Shubh. It's a fabulous song. It's
08:28 like number one in India right now. I love it. One of my favourite artists is Diljit
08:32 Dosanjh. He also performed at Coachella recently. He has outstanding music. But my favourite
08:38 song is this song called Lover. Calm Down, currently I think is one of my favourite songs,
08:43 American pop songs. The Selena Gomez version. I think that is, yeah, that always gets me.
08:49 Now contouring is done. Powder is done. Blush, my favourite part. Aho glass palette once again.
08:57 When I went for the MET Gala as well, I think one of my major like instruction, make me
09:04 look like a ball of blush. Okay, we need to go all out for the blush. I'm romantic, like
09:10 dreamy, like beautiful. Just go for the blush. And eventually I was looking quite like, like
09:15 a tomato. You tend to think about the MET Gala a lot, like what's going to happen inside
09:20 and right from the red carpet, although I got a lot of instructions from Prabal on the
09:23 red carpet, what to do and what not to do. So I really stood by that. Actually, I think
09:27 a lot of the build up for the MET Gala is about the red carpet. Like you forget and
09:31 do not think about what's going to happen on the inside. But the inside was really beautiful,
09:36 so well planned. And it was amazing because I didn't look at my phone for the whole time.
09:40 I was so present. I think I saw Bibi Eilish from far and I was like, lipstick. I'm going
09:46 to use this one, Prada Tilkari, Pillow Talk. I owe this to my wedding. That's how obsessed
09:51 I am with this lip colour. The way I apply my lipstick is not considered the way people
09:56 apply their lipstick. It's a bit weird.
09:58 The reason I do this, I'll tell you why, is because a lot of times I actually even touch
10:05 up my lipstick. I don't know, I think something about moving the lipstick across my mouth
10:10 is just way more tedious as opposed to moving my mouth across the lipstick. I thought that's
10:15 just something that I worked out for myself. And then I rub it off. It was one thing my
10:22 husband always, I mean when he wasn't my husband, when he was my boyfriend as well, when we
10:26 used to go out at night, he's like, wipe that off. Wipe that off because he loves the natural
10:31 colour of my lip. Okay, so this is it. This is my final look. The skin-like makeup, lit
10:39 from within, glow look. So I hope you guys enjoyed this and yeah, take care.
