Police Announce 2 More Confirmed Sightings of Escaped Murderer on the Run in Pennsylvania.

00:09 every day.
00:11 This is a manhunt.
00:12 And all that means to us is that it's
00:14 a longer fugitive investigation with more resources.
00:17 So we are prepared.
00:18 There have been a significant number
00:20 of developments in this investigation
00:21 over the past 24 hours.
00:23 Earlier this morning, at approximately 1230 AM,
00:27 PSP was made aware of a sighting of Cavalcante
00:30 in the East Pikeland area of Chester County.
00:33 Our investigation yielded the following occurrences.
00:37 Sometime during the evening of September 9,
00:39 Cavalcante stole a 2020 Ford Transit van
00:43 from an area approximately 3/4 of a mile
00:46 from the perimeter we were maintaining near the Longwood
00:48 Gardens property.
00:50 The keys had been left in the van.
00:52 And the theft was not noticed until PSP
00:55 canvassed the area looking for a possible stolen vehicle
00:59 after a report of a sighting of Cavalcante
01:02 in the East Pikeland area.
01:04 It was determined Cavalcante used the van
01:06 and traveled to that area.
01:08 At 9:52 PM, he attempted to contact an individual he
01:13 had known and worked with several years prior.
01:16 Cavalcante spoke with the individual
01:18 via a video doorbell at that residence
01:21 and inquired about meeting with that individual.
01:24 The individual was at dinner with his family
01:26 and did not respond to meet Cavalcante.
01:28 Cavalcante left that residence.
01:31 The homeowner eventually returned home,
01:34 reviewed his doorbell recording, and called local police.
01:38 PSP received a call about this sighting and the next
01:42 at 1230 in the morning on September 10, 2023.
01:48 This was our first indication that Cavalcante
01:51 had been able to travel from the area of Longwood Gardens.
01:54 You will note that Cavalcante is now clean shaven
01:57 and wearing a bright green hooded sweatshirt.
02:00 Investigators were also made aware
02:02 of another sighting in the Phoenixville area
02:04 in which Cavalcante appeared at a residence of another old work
02:07 associate at 10.07 PM.
02:11 That associate was not home, but a female resident
02:14 observed Cavalcante and called her friend.
02:18 That friend responded to the residence
02:20 and eventually placed a call to local police.
02:23 Police investigated and then notified PSP.
02:27 During that investigation, there was
02:29 an indication of a white vehicle possibly
02:31 being used by Cavalcante.
02:34 An updated photo of Cavalcante was
02:36 provided to state and local law enforcement at 2.30 AM.
02:40 After an extensive search, the vehicle
02:42 was discovered abandoned in a field behind a barn
02:45 in East Nantmule Township at 10.40 AM.
02:50 Investigators have been searching the area
02:52 around that location since that time.
