00:00 >> Look at whoever asked the question.
00:02 >> All right.
00:03 >> What has this preseason been like for you?
00:05 >> It's been intense, a lot of running, a lot of getting in shape, conditioning.
00:09 Mental, I've been learning a lot of plays, learning all the plays basically.
00:15 I've been picking up on it very well, so I'm ready to see how the season's gonna go.
00:19 >> It's been, I mean, I guess getting here and being in the Princeton camp,
00:24 I guess, how is it different then and
00:25 similar to how you kind of expected it to be waiting so long to get here?
00:29 >> Well, I knew it was gonna be faster for sure, but
00:31 I didn't know how fast it was gonna be.
00:32 It's very fast.
00:34 Conditioning, I thought it was gonna be a little easier than it was, but
00:40 I take the conditioning well, so everything's great.
00:44 >> Has it sunk in that you're about to play,
00:47 like you put yourself in a position to actually play in this game, LSU primetime,
00:52 a season opener with so many people watching.
00:54 Has that sunk in where you are in your life,
00:55 that you're about to go play a football game like this?
00:57 >> I mean, I know that the game is coming up, but
00:59 I didn't fully grasp the moment yet.
01:02 So I'm waiting until I walk in the stadium, see 100,000 people, and
01:07 just seeing what kind of feeling I get.
01:10 I know, I don't think I'm gonna be nervous, but
01:13 my teammates told me I will be nervous, but I'm ready for it.
01:18 I've been waiting for this moment for a long time, and I'm ready to do that.
01:22 >> Does the opponent add anything to it for you being worried about?
01:25 >> No, I look at it as another game, really.
01:27 I'm trying to get to the main thing, which is the championship.
01:30 So it's just another team in a row.
01:31 >> What's it like, what has it been like getting to know Coach Duke and
01:36 just working with him, going through practice?
01:38 >> Coach Duke is a real good coach.
01:42 He's been taking his time with me, making sure that I knew everything I have to know.
01:46 So we have a great relationship on and off the field, so everything is great.
01:51 >> What's the receiving room been like?
01:52 You guys are so deep, you guys are pushing each other every day.
01:55 How's that been just day in, day out?
01:57 It's just a great group of guys, and it seems like a really talented group.
01:59 >> Man, it's a great experience to be around some great players,
02:05 Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson.
02:07 All the receivers are great receivers, so
02:09 it's just eye opening to be around them kind of guys.
02:13 And it's really fun to have playmakers on the side of me.
02:17 >> What's it like competing against this secondary,
02:19 just how aggressive they are with you guys?
02:21 >> We got the best defense in the country.
02:23 It's just iron sharp iron, so I only know I'm just getting better every day,
02:28 so I know the game will be easier than practice for sure.
02:32 >> It seems like they match you up against greedy a lot in practice.
02:34 I know you go way back, I guess.
02:35 How much did he help you in this transition?
02:37 >> They have been one of the main people in this transition because he's showing me
02:42 how to be a college student athlete, especially now that school is approaching,
02:47 now I'm in a classroom.
02:49 But being greedy, it's just real intense.
02:52 He's not gonna take it easy on me, I'm not gonna take it easy on him.
02:56 Every day, we just wanna win in practice, so I've been winning.
03:01 >> What were your goals when August started?
03:04 Was your goal to be a chance to start on this team and catch up?
03:08 Did you have number goals, stat goals, just wanna play, contribute?
03:11 What were your goals, and have they changed in the last three games?
03:14 >> No, honestly, I didn't have any goals going into it, I just knew I was going.
03:18 The plan was to be patient, so I don't pull nothing while conditioning stuff.
03:23 But I'm built for it, so I've been full speed the whole time.
03:28 And I'm just stacking, I'm stacking up on everything I need to know,
03:33 everything that I need to get done, so I'm good.
03:36 >> Did you feel like you got comfortable maybe quicker than you thought you would?
03:39 You seemed just really not overwhelmed at all,
03:41 like even your first couple practices out there.
03:44 Did you sense that comfort immediately?
03:47 >> Immediately, and that surprised me, cuz I knew it was college conditioning,
03:51 I didn't know what to expect.
03:52 But I got it done, and I'm good.
03:56 >> Working with a guy like JT, what's that like for a receiver, and
03:59 what has he done to help you along as you've had the opportunity to have reps?
04:03 >> He's an amazing leader, on and off the field, one of the top quarterback.
04:08 He's the top quarterback in the country, so
04:10 who wouldn't wanna play on a team with a top quarterback?
04:14 I'm having fun.
04:15 >> What kind of stuff have you been able to take away from working with Johnny
04:18 Wilson and Keon, and
04:19 where do you feel like you made the biggest strides over the last couple weeks?
04:22 >> Honestly, they're big physical receivers, so the physicality,
04:27 coming with the game.
04:28 In college, you're more physical than in high school, so just being physical,
04:32 them teaching me how to be physical and not get penalties.
04:36 The smart way to be physical, it really impacted my game.
04:38 I'm on to a good start.
04:41 >> How is something like tonight, being inside Duke at night practice,
04:44 kind of due for the mentality,
04:45 a little bit of a change of pace from the usual morning inside the facility?
04:48 >> I mean, the temperature honestly felt the same.
04:51 I would like fans to be here, so it was just another practice to me.
04:58 I'm just ready for some fans to come in.
05:00 We had scrimmages and stuff in here already, so
05:02 it was just another practice to me, another day to get better.
05:05 >> [LAUGH] >> Is this set in that you're what,
05:10 I guess you haven't played a football game since what, late 2020, and
05:12 here you are a week out, is that set in?
05:14 >> No, I'm just waiting for the moment to come.
05:19 I'm just working, getting better, and ready for the moment.
05:23 >> Awesome.
