00:00 >> Yeah.
00:01 >> Dre, just how good do you feel right now running the football?
00:05 It seems like you're just a different level.
00:08 >> I feel natural now.
00:11 Way more confident than last year.
00:13 Getting the win, it's finally slowing down for me.
00:15 >> Where did that come from?
00:17 >> Just another year in the system,
00:21 actually becoming more of a leader.
00:25 And LT helped me out going over the play signals every day during fall,
00:30 camp, during spring.
00:31 And yeah, I've been feeling comfortable.
00:33 >> You got a chance to break the rock.
00:35 How did that feel?
00:37 >> It felt great.
00:38 It was unexpected.
00:39 I was playing with my shoulder pads, I just heard my name being called.
00:42 I'm like, whoa, it's me?
00:44 But it was great.
00:46 I'm blessed to be able to break the rock after fall camp.
00:49 I'm just ready to go.
00:50 The guys.
00:51 >> What do you think you did particularly well through this fall camp to
00:55 position yourself to get that kind of reward at the end of it?
00:58 >> Just come to work every day even.
01:00 If we're having a bad day, I brought the energy in the running back room and
01:05 the whole office period, actually.
01:07 Building confidence, building my leadership, talking more.
01:10 Cuz last year, I didn't really, well,
01:12 this year I was really working more on my leadership.
01:14 So just being an all around leader.
01:16 >> That was important given Trey Sean was so vocal for
01:19 this running back room to kind of step up to be that guy.
01:23 >> Yeah, I took out what he left out.
01:25 That's my dog.
01:27 I hate he left, but he taught me a lot of things.
01:29 And I appreciate him.
01:31 And I hope he do good.
01:31 >> Okay, so any challenges you know, stepping up into that vocal shit?
01:36 You know, that leadership role?
01:38 >> Yeah, just me talking.
01:41 That's not me.
01:41 I'm not more of a talker.
01:43 But I had to step out of my comfort zone a little more this fall camp cuz I had to.
01:47 They look at me as a leader.
01:48 And I realized that this year or so,
01:50 I had to step into that leadership role.
01:54 >> It's now in that position now, the leadership role.
01:56 How do you feel in the room now with all the guys around you who made the leads?
02:01 >> I feel great.
02:01 I still feel like LT, LT lead a little more than me.
02:06 But I'm picking up, I'm helping them out.
02:08 And the rest of those guys in the room look up to me and LT.
02:11 >> Okay, and we talked to you before preseason camp.
02:14 You talked about your new weight and where you're playing.
02:16 I guess where you're at now and how are you feeling with wherever you've landed?
02:20 >> I'm still at 223 right now.
02:21 I feel great.
02:23 Had a lot of speed.
02:24 I think I got faster actually.
02:26 I was on the turf the other day and I was racing down the sideline with some of
02:30 the defensive guys and they didn't catch me.
02:33 So I feel like I got way faster than last year.
02:36 >> What's the fastest you've been on GPS?
02:39 >> 22.9 in a 44 yard run.
02:43 It was 22.9 yard.
02:44 >> That fast.
02:45 >> It's a little bit.
02:46 >> Yeah.
02:48 >> That was the first game of the season.
02:50 Like a 42 yard run, I hit 22.9.
02:52 >> What about this off season?
02:54 Do you know what you've been doing this?
02:56 >> No, I'm not sure.
02:57 I'm not sure what's the fastest I hit this off season.
02:59 >> But you're fast, you think you're probably- >> Cuz in the indoor,
03:02 I know I hit probably like 23, but it don't track the indoor.
03:05 It track out the outdoor.
03:07 >> You hit 23 less.
03:08 >> I got you.
03:09 I'm trying to hear this.
03:11 >> When Coach Royals talking about the running back room being really tight and
03:15 just how you guys operate together.
03:16 Can you speak to that, the dynamic between you guys?
03:19 And even just the skill set seems super complementary.
03:21 >> Those my guys, I don't know why we're so close cuz of Coach Yak.
03:28 Coach Yak, he lead by example in that running back room and
03:31 we just help each other out.
03:32 It's no like no selfish at all.
03:33 It's the most unselfish group I've ever been with.
03:36 I want every last one of us to succeed.
03:38 >> Does Coach Yak have a nickname for every one of you guys?
03:41 >> Yeah, he call, sometimes he call me fat boy and sometimes he call me brick.
03:45 He call Kaziah fat boy.
03:47 He call CJ cookie bus.
03:49 He call LT, just LT, nine LT.
03:55 Rod, he call Rod all type of names.
03:56 So, yeah, we got that bond.
03:59 So he can do that.
04:00 We don't get offended.
04:01 That's just him.
04:02 >> You ran so well, open against Duquesne last year.
04:06 That LSU game might have not all kind of come together for you.
04:08 Just how much different do you feel confidence wise going against LSU this
04:12 year than you did that week, two game for you guys last year?
04:16 >> I'm sorry.
04:17 >> Can you even compare it or is it that much different?
04:20 >> I'm just more experienced actually.
04:22 Last year, it was my second game actually playing football.
04:25 It was my second game ever really playing football.
04:27 So basically just experience, me having them games under my belt last year.
04:31 And just coming in this year, I got more experience.
04:34 So I'm gonna be way more confident this year because of the experience.
04:38 >> What do you tell folks back home when they ask you,
04:40 how good is this team gonna be?
04:42 Your family's asking, what are some of the things that you talk to them about
04:44 that you share about this team that you feel is gonna be the reason why you guys
04:47 are so excited?
04:48 >> I just said we got a lot of weapons and we come and execute every single day and
04:52 work our butts off and just best to be on this team.
04:55 >> Thanks, Trey.
04:58 >> Thank you, Trey.
