Marcus Satterfield on Jeff Sims' progress and more
Transcript
00:00 Here's today's Husker Max Practice Report,
00:02 brought to you by Tracy's Collision Center
00:04 on 1,499-3-KLIN.
00:08 - Husker football offensive coordinator,
00:10 Marcus Satterfield, revealed what he's seen
00:12 from his starting quarterback, Jeff Sims, this fall camp.
00:15 - He improved every single day.
00:16 I think that he had a goal,
00:18 he wanted to take care of the football.
00:20 He wanted to increase his completion percentage.
00:22 The first four or five days,
00:23 the completion percentage wasn't as good as we wanted.
00:26 Getting used to, again, playing all these different looks
00:28 and stuff we're getting.
00:29 I think he just chipped away at it,
00:30 and by the end of camp, it's around where we want it to be.
00:34 - Satterfield said that this week is setting the table
00:36 for what preparations against Minnesota will look like.
00:40 - We're just kind of easing into it.
00:41 This is more about a simulated game week
00:43 that's teaching our kids,
00:44 like, you're gonna practice Tuesday mornings,
00:46 you're gonna practice Wednesday nights,
00:47 you're gonna walk two on Thursday mornings.
00:49 So it's more about the simulation of the game week
00:51 so they can feel what it feels like,
00:52 as well as implementing small doses of our opponent on 831.
00:56 - With this Husker Max Practice Report,
00:58 I'm Matt McMaster.
