00:00 The Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, will visit the Philippines this September.

00:07 He was the one who was interviewed by the Australian Ambassador to the Philippines

00:10 during his visit to the GMA Network.

00:15 The details of his visit were discussed by Bernadette Reyes.

00:19 During the Australian Ambassador to the Philippines HKU's visit to the GMA Network,

00:27 he also gave the important relationship between the two countries.

00:31 He informed the country's Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese,

00:36 to help President Bongbong Marcos.

00:40 Just to illustrate how important this relationship is,

00:44 we are expecting our Prime Minister of Australia to visit Manila on 8th of September.

00:53 And during that visit, it is expected that our leaders, our two leaders,

00:59 will sign a strategic partnership in order to elevate our government-to-government relationship

01:08 to one of strategic partnership.

01:11 So that actually shows how important this relationship is and how close we are.

01:17 Australia is in the top 12 among the trading partners of the Philippines.

01:21 It is also the sixth destination of Filipinos abroad.

01:24 And Australia is one of the supporters of the position of the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea.

01:30 The Philippines also received more than P3 billion pesos of official development assistance

01:35 from Australia since last year.

01:37 In front of the officials of the GMA Network,

01:40 in the presence of the GMA Network Inc. Chairman and CEO, Attorney Felipe Algozon,

01:45 the Ambassador repeated the important role of the media in delivering the news.

01:50 We need media to also project to the citizens and the listeners

01:56 the importance of having rules-based order to ensure we can achieve stable, peaceful and prosperous region.

02:05 Attorney Algozon said that the GMA Network was ready to help the Australian government in delivering news and information.

02:13 We have seen how good cooperation between two countries can work out to the improvement of both countries.

02:23 And I'm glad to hear that Australia is there to support the Philippines.

02:27 We are prepared to help the Australian government and the embassy,

02:32 especially in the forthcoming visit of their Prime Minister with our President.
