00:00 A new opportunity abroad is being brought by the Philippine and South Korean government,

00:05 especially for Filipino caregivers.

00:07 Even in Hungary, Filipino workers are needed.

00:12 The search for a job in other countries by Lucia,

00:22 who is a test-graduate for the course of caregiving, is already in full swing.

00:25 She said she doesn't want to leave the Philippines so that her child and parents won't be left behind.

00:30 She is supporting the problem.

00:33 The income is really low.

00:37 It's not like in other countries, it's even double.

00:42 Lucia's colleagues in South Korea now have an opportunity.

00:46 According to South Korean Ambassador Lee Sang-hwa,

00:49 South Korea is already negotiating with the Department of Migrant Workers of the Philippines

00:54 for the possibility of a bilateral labor agreement.

00:59 We are interested in sending Filipino caregivers to Korea

01:06 because Filipino caregivers have earned a high reputation, good reputation worldwide.

01:12 And that will be, in our view, a win-win partnership between our two countries.

01:19 According to the Department of Migrant Workers Officer in Charge, Hans Kakdak,

01:23 South Korea and the Philippines have started negotiating

01:28 on the expansion of the Employment Permit System

01:33 that South Korea is providing to Filipino workers.

01:37 They want to allow the entry of caregivers to Korea on a pilot run basis

01:42 but only through a government-to-government hiring facility.

01:46 Aside from the possible deployment of Filipino caregivers to South Korea,

01:50 Hungary has said that it needs factory and skilled workers.

01:57 It has said that 6,000 Filipinos have already left to work in Hungary.

02:04 The Hungarian government, for their part, assured not just an expedited process

02:11 for hired, qualified Filipino workers,

02:15 but also adequate protection for Filipino workers.

02:22 The DMW said that aside from a good and adequate salary,

02:26 the benefits of Filipino workers are good and the OFWs are protected

02:32 according to a complete contract or agreement.

02:36 Do not let illegal recruiters enter.

02:39 Make sure to go to the Department of Migrant Workers.

02:42 There are particular skills, training, certification requirements

02:49 through TESDA accredited institutions.
