Defensive coordinator Tony White after Friday's practice
Transcript
00:00 Here's today's Husker Max Practice Report brought to you by Tracy's Collision Center
00:05 on 1499.3 KLIN.
00:08 Defensive coordinator Tony White said that for his defense it all begins in the trenches.
00:13 This part in camp it's so much X's and O's in football, the stress builds and everything,
00:18 but you can always hear laughter, you can always hear guys being free in the room, you
00:21 know, so that's a good sound.
00:24 Those guys up front, I mean, when you see them come off the ball and you see them play,
00:28 that's most noticeable, right, because the front is where it starts and when those guys
00:31 are playing physical and fast, you got a chance, so I like where those guys are at.
00:35 White said that he's also seen quarterback Jeff Sims take major strides since coming
00:39 to Nebraska.
00:40 I think his reads, I think his confidence in the pocket, I think his maturity, I think
00:44 his strength, his arm, I mean, you name it, I mean, the guy has really put in the work
00:50 to be a leader in this system at Nebraska, so defending him on the other side, he's making
00:55 me a better coach for sure.
00:57 With this Husker Max practice report, I'm Matt McMaster.
