A man has been arrested over the fatal stabbing of a woman in Sydney's west.

00:00 Well, police and paramedics were called to a home here in St Mary's about 6.45 this morning
00:06 where they found a woman in her 30s with stab wounds to her chest.
00:11 Paramedics tried to revive her at the scene but sadly she was pronounced dead.
00:15 As police set up a crime scene a short time later, the woman's 35-year-old partner walked
00:20 into Campbelltown Police Station which is about a half an hour drive from here.
00:25 He has since been arrested over her death.
00:27 He has not yet been charged but he remains in custody.
