00:00 Here's today's Husker Max Practice Report brought to you by Tracy's Collision Center
00:05 on 1499.3 KLIN.
00:08 Husker Head Coach Matt Rule spoke Tuesday and said while there's a lot of freshman talent
00:13 in the wide receiver room, he's not sure if any of them will see the field against Minnesota.
00:17 We'd love to have them play if they're ready, but the older guys know how to play.
00:20 You know, that first game, the team we're playing, that's going to be a grown man game.
00:25 They play real football.
00:26 I told our older guys, "You guys want to win?
00:28 You better see a bunch of veteran players out there on special teams."
00:30 You know, you can't subcontract out winning to young players.
00:33 Now, some young players will be ready, some won't.
00:35 What you're hoping is that we're just going to give our guys chances to get reps and play,
00:38 and if they're ready, they're ready.
00:39 If they're not, they're not.
00:40 Rule has been impressed by defensive freshman Ethan Nation.
00:43 I can see his athleticism, his explosiveness, and his mindset.
00:47 A lot of this is just about maturity.
00:48 Everybody has the talent to play, who has the mindset to prepare to play all the time,
00:52 and he has that.
00:53 He has that confidence, that swagger, that's humble enough to also coach them.
00:57 With this Husker Max practice report, I'm Matt McMaster.
