00:00 My name's Amy Beveridge.
00:01 Amy, tell me the situation that you're currently facing at the moment.
00:05 Well, local authority don't want to help me get my daughter a special school.
00:10 So from September she's got to go to a mainstream school, which is Copner School.
00:15 And I don't feel that Copner School can support Polly in her needs.
00:21 So I think she needs a special provision school.
00:24 But local authority won't give me a special provision school without an EHCP.
00:31 So just explain Polly's condition and the support that she really does need.
00:36 Well, she's got autism and she's got delayed in language, which is speech and listening.
00:44 But with autism, she finds it hard to cope, which she has meltdowns and she has tantrums.
00:53 So tell me how this has made you feel.
00:55 It makes me feel sad and upset that there's no help out there at all, as I'm a single
01:00 parent with two kids.
01:01 And my son goes in year 10 September, and it's affecting my son as well, as he'll be
01:08 starting his GCSEs.
01:10 So tell me how you'd like to see the situation resolved.
01:13 Well, I'd like it to be resolved with Polly getting a special provision school.
01:18 I'd like to see her happy and to progress.
01:22 And I think that Polly needs a one-to-one from the moment I drop Polly off to school.
01:28 And from the moment I pick Polly up from school, she needs a one-to-one all day, every day.
01:34 And if she didn't get that one-to-one, what could a typical day look like?
01:37 If she don't get the one-to-one, Polly's days is like meltdowns, tantrums, and it's not
01:45 a good day.
