The Woodman Pub in Purbrook Reopens

The Woodman pub in Purbrook, reopens after a refurbishment.

00:00I'm Emma Broomfield and I'm the General Manager of The Woodmen in Purbrook.

00:04So tell me a little bit about The Woodmen, I understand it's just gone through a refurbishment?

00:08It has yes, Admiral Taverns have just done a full refurb on the pub and it's gone brilliant,

00:15it's really nice.

00:17Tell me a little bit how the pub was before and how it is today?

00:21So it was just old and tired, it needed some TLC and Admiral Taverns have completely transformed it.

00:30Tell me a little bit about those changes that they've made, has it changed dramatically?

00:35It has changed dramatically, so the deco has completely changed,

00:40a little bit of the layout has changed with the toilets for example.

00:50So tell me a little bit about how excited you are about welcoming the customers back,

00:56they've obviously been closed for about a month.

00:58I can't wait to welcome the customers back, people have been getting in touch with me

01:03asking how long is it left until we open, they can't wait to come back,

01:08yeah we can't wait to see them.

01:09What do you reckon their reaction will be like to the transformation?

01:12I think they're going to love it, a lot of them have said it's needed it for a long time,

01:16so I think they're going to love it.

01:19Tell me a little bit more about any other changes, so have you got new drinks,

01:24menus, food, things like that?

01:26So not doing food, still won't be doing food and the drinks menu is going to stay as it was

01:31from when Admiral Taverns took it over, so that's not changed.

01:35Happy hour has gone, happy hour has gone, but other than that everything else is the same.

01:42And anything for the future coming up over the Christmas period,

01:47you know have you got any exciting things coming up?

01:50There's some things in the pipelines but I won't say anything yet,

01:54but yeah we're still planning, we're still planning for Christmas.

01:58To keep an eye out and keep coming to the Woodman.

02:04So our opening hours have changed, only slightly from what they were before,

02:09so Sunday through till Thursday we'll now be open midday till 11am

02:15and then Friday and Saturday we'll be open until midnight.
