00:00 Peace on earth only has the value if humans grasp it for themselves.
00:04 Here's a look at the 3-0 Ultraman season 2, the 1/6 scale Ultraman suit of Zoffy.
00:12 [Music]
00:36 From the Ultraman season 2 anime, Ultraman suit Zoffy is now available as a 1/6 scale
00:41 articulated figure.
00:43 This Ultraman suit is worn by Shin Hayada, the father of Shinjira, who once had fused
00:48 with Ultraman to protect the earth and his youth.
00:50 Fig 0 1/6 scale Ultraman suit Zoffy anime version stands approximately 30.5 cm tall
00:56 and is a fully articulated figure with over 40 points of articulation.
01:00 The collectible has detailed paint applications and decals which is constructed partially
01:04 of die cast zinc alloy and other metal parts.
01:07 LED light up features are installed in the eyes and the color timer on the chest.
01:12 Just before we get down to the details on the Zoffy Ultraman suit, I'd like to first
01:16 thank the folks over at 3-0 that did provide the anime Ultraman season 2 Fig 0 1/6 scale
01:22 Ultraman suit of Zoffy anime version that we could have a look at in this video.
01:27 The figure is currently sold out over on their sites but the price point for what this figure
01:31 was going for was $149 or about $150 so if you're interested get this one for yourself.
01:37 While there might not be any more available on their site, you can certainly check around
01:41 to other various sites that sell collectibles from 3-0.
01:45 With that being said, let's grab the tape measure now and see how tall the figure stands.
01:48 Now right to the very top of the head I go, you're looking at Zoffy's suit standing
01:52 exactly in this case 12 inches in height or the figure is going to be about 30 cm tall.
01:59 Figured first, the thing we'd look at is the instruction sheet that comes included
02:02 with Zoffy.
02:03 It isn't in this case so much an instruction booklet as it's one sheet printed on both
02:07 sides.
02:08 If you would consider this to be the back side, it shows you how to install the Specium
02:11 Blade effect parts and also how to install the Ultra Slash effects, all of which I will
02:15 touch base on in this review and of course it shows you how to move the poseability parts
02:19 on Zoffy but the main part, the front part, shows you not only the breakdown of all the
02:24 things that come included with like the Specium Blade effect pieces, the Ultra Slash effects
02:28 but it also more importantly shows you where to install the AG-1 batteries.
02:32 As normally the case, 3-0 does not include the batteries with the figure so you have
02:35 to go and pick these up for yourself.
02:37 Simply just go into places like Amazon for example, I could get myself an entire tray
02:41 of those and I just recently in fact stocked up on my AG-1 batteries and I think I got
02:45 myself a tray, I want to say like 8 to 10 of them and it was around $8.
02:49 You need actually two AG-1 batteries installed into the top dome of Zoffy's helmet and
02:54 then you actually have to install another set of AG-1 batteries on the back of his torso
02:59 to light up of course the time effect on the front of his chest, all of which again we
03:02 will look at in a moment.
03:05 Actually maybe just before we look at the accessories I'd show you where the battery
03:08 compartments are stored on Zoffy, the first of which, let's pick the figure up right
03:12 now, getting a closer look at his helmet.
03:15 First of all, fantastic head sculpt from the folks over at 3-0 but more importantly the
03:19 accessible area for the batteries I find it's easiest.
03:23 You'll see like there's a little lip on the front of his face, what would be his face.
03:27 I find it's actually easiest just to take your finger in there and pop the front plate
03:31 off.
03:32 Essentially what you need to do is you need to remove this whole top canopy area and then
03:35 once that's removed, simply just unscrew the battery compartment located here on the
03:39 top and install your two required AG-1 batteries.
03:42 Once those are though installed, simply just take the switch that's located on the front
03:46 here and switch it over to the front.
03:48 Now it may not be as bright as for example as his chest, his chest is actually a lot
03:52 brighter, it also helps too that this is blue and this is yellow, but you can still see
03:56 that they have successfully lit up the front of his eyes.
03:59 The only thing about it though is in order to access this you have to remove the dome
04:02 every single time to turn on the batteries and then you have to do the exact same steps
04:07 in order to turn it off.
04:08 But for right now at least it gives you a nice effect.
04:10 Let's pop this back into place.
04:12 You'll see also on the inside of the dome cover that there's a couple of holes, three
04:16 in fact, and those line up then with the provided pegs on the top.
04:19 So again you just pop that into place, lining up everything accordingly and then snap that
04:24 down.
04:25 The other battery compartment located for his chest is not actually in his chest but
04:29 rather on the back of the figure's body.
04:31 This area right here, and though the instructions actually more so kind of indicate that you
04:35 have to remove the section from the spine, what you will need to do is actually take
04:39 this entire piece off.
04:42 This is not an easy thing to do and again you just sort of have to wiggle it back and
04:45 forth.
04:46 I think it was the first time that I did this I was a little more worried because it wasn't
04:50 releasing right away and always when you have larger panels like this of plastic you're
04:55 always worried that if you put too much pressure against this, this may then buckle the plastic.
04:59 But just a little bit of wiggling back and forth until eventually it gives way.
05:04 Unscrew the battery compartment right here, install then your two AA or your two AG1 batteries
05:10 and screw that back in place.
05:11 One thing though while you are putting this back in place if you happen to have picked
05:14 up the figure for yourself, you'll notice that this won't sit flat.
05:18 I just assumed it would sit as flat as it would but it actually does stick up just a
05:22 little bit and this little peg right here will in fact connect to the peg on the inside
05:27 panel.
05:28 And again don't worry, this time around you don't have to actually lift the panel
05:32 off every single time you need to access the front light up chest.
05:37 All this time around you need to do is just simply press the button on the front and you
05:40 can see it illuminates a very bright blue.
05:42 I wish that they could have done something similar here for the face area here where
05:46 it didn't involve me having to take this off.
05:48 I mean obviously it doesn't take really much at all to remove the top piece and access
05:52 the batteries but I wish it was as simple as simply just pressing the button on the
05:55 front like he has for his chest.
05:57 And this is again super easy.
05:59 More companies that are doing die cast figures with light up functions need to really take
06:03 a page, take an example from 3Zero as to how to access these batteries.
06:07 I don't even have to really remove a lot of things.
06:10 Especially when we have looked at die cast figures from before from other companies,
06:13 you have to always remove things.
06:14 You always have to take panels off to turn on switches.
06:17 And while yes you still have to do that technically with Zoffy's head, it's a lot easier than
06:21 having to pull off tiny little panels and break the plastic in the process.
06:25 So let's go for right now at least and we'll turn everything off.
06:28 Again we'll probably put these back on when we get to the final looks of the figure.
06:31 Just again remove this switch.
06:33 I might also add a very long switch.
06:36 Just gonna switch that off though.
06:38 And then we're just gonna put that back in place.
06:40 So while that's now all turned off, let's run through the accessories that come included
06:45 with the figure.
06:46 He doesn't come with a lot to be fair, but I think he comes with just the right things.
06:49 Oh I did actually turn this on in the process.
06:51 But let's run through all the accessories that come included with the figure.
06:53 I guess first of all we'll have a look at the hands.
06:56 The hands first of all the figure comes included with a relaxed pair of hands, which isn't
07:00 so much relaxed.
07:01 You can see there's a little bit more dynamic gesturing though for those individual fingers.
07:06 The hands themselves are painted extremely well in a nice metallic silver.
07:09 You can see as well it does have the same similar blue on the inside, but though unlike
07:13 the chest, these don't illuminate.
07:15 All in all though, nice looking hands.
07:17 Initially I may have thought that they could have included articulation points to the fingers,
07:21 but that doesn't always get a successful look to the hands and a lot of times it looks
07:24 a lot more just like broken up pieces of finger that you have to then bend yourself.
07:28 I much just prefer I would think just more posed hands like this, gestured hands.
07:32 The figure also comes included just behind the back there.
07:35 It comes also with a pair of specim beam shooting posing hands.
07:39 Now these give us at least the opportunity to see some additional black that they've
07:43 colored the inside or the underside of the fingers.
07:45 Still though you get the blue nicely treated to the bottom, but again like if you did want
07:49 to have the figure displayed with the beam shooting hands, then these are the hands you're
07:53 going to want to use.
07:54 Lastly though, the figure also comes included with a pair of posed hands, which really though
07:58 if to describe these based at least on the instruction manual, I mean I would really
08:02 consider that both the hands are posing hands.
08:05 I mean these are just as poseable I would say in the sense of how you could pose the
08:08 figure as I would say these hands.
08:11 These hands kind of give us more like a spider-man pose with the hands all sort of fanned out
08:14 like a wave, whereas these hands are kind of bringing the fingers a little bit more
08:17 closer to the palm, at least two of them.
08:19 But all in all, like nice looking hands on all of these, if you did want to change out
08:24 the hands by the way.
08:25 Simply just hold on to the form.
08:27 Be careful of this piece here because this will come off.
08:29 We will have to remove those in a second to include the specimen blade effects, but simply
08:33 just take the hand off and find the hand that you want to use.
08:36 Let's find a hand that actually has the thumbs facing inward and easily easily pop that in
08:39 place.
08:40 So then you've got Zoffy then with the posed hands instead.
08:43 I mean certainly when it comes to it, I like that always that figures come included with
08:46 all these extra hands.
08:47 Closed fists tend not to be the hands I end up displaying with the figure.
08:51 I always just like posed hands or more dynamic hands as the more interesting of the two.
08:55 While the figure is now still standing, let's just get his feet to be a little bit flatter.
09:00 Let's run through the effect now pieces that come included with the figure.
09:03 Now first of all, he comes with the specimen blade effect pieces.
09:07 These will then swap out with the ones I just finished talking about there on the sides
09:10 of his forearms.
09:11 You simply just remove off instead of actually talking about that.
09:13 I should probably just show you.
09:14 Before we actually do that, I wanted to show you the beam effect that's in the middle here.
09:18 I really like the look of this.
09:19 The specimen blade effects do add a little bit of extra pizzazz and while they don't
09:23 illuminate in any way, you can see at least that you've used a translucent blue plastic.
09:28 Just though be careful putting this onto the form of Zoffy.
09:31 If you put pressure against this, I think it may potentially buckle the plastic.
09:34 But if you though wanted to change out those, you simply just grab to the back of the figure,
09:38 just remove these from the form.
09:40 A couple of times actually while I'm doing the posability, these may inadvertently fall
09:44 off so I'm kind of giving you a warning well in advance.
09:47 Just simply detach that.
09:48 We'll do the exact same thing on the other side.
09:50 Simply just remove these from the provided track and then you'll take the specimen blades
09:54 and we'll just attach them in place.
09:56 Essentially what it is, is there's a little rectangular indentation on the bottom of this
09:59 and that fits just onto the rectangular peg.
10:02 And just line everything up and plop it in place.
10:05 I don't think necessarily it's a case where they're specific to one arm as it seems to
10:10 be the case that you can use them on either side because they look like they're symmetrical.
10:14 Again when you are putting them in place, just don't do what I just did.
10:17 Don't put pressure against this.
10:18 Sort of just push them in on either side and then you've got again like the specimen blade
10:22 effects.
10:23 I like to really look at those.
10:24 I'm not sure if I'm going to be displaying the figure with them.
10:27 I did certainly start the review with having these on the forms of Zoffy, but I think I
10:31 would much rather prefer to have the figure displayed with the Ultra Slash effects instead.
10:35 To accomplish that, let's go ahead right now and remove those.
10:38 Maybe we'll just put these back for right now so I don't lose them.
10:41 Just going to plug these in place.
10:43 We'll do the exact same thing on the other side.
10:46 So we're just going to remove that for right now.
10:47 Going to take then the back piece, replace it, or return it I should say, back to the
10:52 home where it started from.
10:53 So while we put the figure down here for one second once more, I wanted to show you guys
10:57 the Slash effects the figure comes included with.
11:00 Sort of similar in the way the specimen blade effects were.
11:03 Sort of making use of a nice translucent blue.
11:05 It looks like, for me at least, that it's slightly darker on the inside of it.
11:09 Could just be the way that it's molded, but I really like the effect that they've given
11:12 this.
11:13 Now these though will attach onto his wrists.
11:15 In order to attach them onto the wrist, you simply can't just attach them.
11:18 There's no really provided peg.
11:19 So to come included with it, you get yourself a couple of these little wrist adapter pieces,
11:23 which essentially is, let's just pick the figure back up for a second, it's basically
11:27 replacing this piece right here.
11:28 The only thing that's now being included is the fact it includes now a clear peg.
11:33 So what you will want to do is just detach these.
11:35 Be careful though while you are detaching them that you put them in a place where you
11:38 know they're going to be.
11:39 I mean again, like they're just tiny little half bracelets essentially.
11:43 And then you're going to take then the new piece and clip it right where this was once.
11:47 Now we're just going to fit that back into place.
11:49 Now the thing about it though is you want to make sure that the hands are out of the
11:52 way.
11:53 I've seen a couple of times that I've done this where if the hands are too close to the
11:55 wrist for example, I find it's a harder time then to attach the bracelets.
11:59 And again we're just going to line everything up as best we can get it.
12:02 I want to make sure I've got the right side here.
12:05 Maybe it's this side.
12:06 Okay, I think it was actually, yeah, this one right here.
12:09 So unlike for example the Specium blades, these ones actually have a provided purpose.
12:13 So like this one, the one I was trying to do is in fact going to go on this side.
12:18 So what we're going to do now that that's plugged in place, if you actually look at
12:21 the Ultra Slash effects, on the back of it, or I guess depending on which way you're
12:26 looking at it, but if you flip it around to the back you'll notice that there's a little
12:28 peg hole on the back.
12:30 It isn't though an exact circle.
12:32 What it is, is if you look at the peg, the peg is actually more of a half circle.
12:36 So when you're putting it in place, you will want to make sure of course that you've got
12:39 it facing the right way.
12:41 I mean obviously it's only going to fit really one way because it's supposed to spiral around
12:45 his hand.
12:46 I mean this is best of course served by actually having a gestured hand in place.
12:49 I don't think it would really work as well by having a closed fist or again like if you
12:53 wanted to have for example what they describe in the instructions as more of the fanned
12:56 hand, you can also go that route also as well.
12:59 Now again you would simply just rinse and repeat and pop that then on the other side.
13:03 But I think for me at least when it comes to displaying the figure, Zoffy will be displayed
13:06 most definitely with the Ultra Slash effects instead because I just think it's a lot cooler.
13:11 Let's go at least right now, we're going to remove these back again because I know just
13:14 getting a closer look at the figure, show you guys the poseability for the figure, I
13:17 want to make sure that nothing gets in the way of things.
13:19 And actually while I'm doing that, let's just take that back off.
13:22 We're going to put the bracelet back in place.
13:24 Just again because that little lip of plastic, I don't want to clip it by mistake.
13:28 And again we're just going to fit this back on.
13:30 It's a little harder to do just because it's a very very small piece.
13:34 But that's now back in place.
13:36 Let's go and resume with looking at the rest of the figure.
13:39 First of all I can say right away if you're a fan of Ultraman, 3-Zero has done an incredible
13:42 job of replicating the Zoffy suit from season two.
13:45 The colors on this one is really quite good.
13:47 It's sort of a combination of that very familiar silver color mixed nicely with this burgundy
13:52 red that they've incorporated.
13:53 In a way for me at least, it reminds me of the Mark V suit of Iron Man.
13:57 Sort of the way that they've mingled the red with the silver.
13:59 Spin this around and you can see like all the panel work that they've added to the piece.
14:03 And again there's lots of poseability we'll talk more about in a moment.
14:06 The head sculpt, like I said, there's nothing I really would have changed.
14:08 I really though wish that the eyes could have been a little bit brighter than what they
14:11 actually were, but all in all the fact that this does actually light up is a nice touch
14:15 on 3-Zero's part.
14:16 They tend to always usually do this, whether it be these ones or say for example the Transformers.
14:21 They always try to find a way to incorporate the light up functions so it replicates the
14:24 look of the character from either the series or the movie.
14:27 You do have some matte black that's also added here to the sides of his torso, so it does
14:31 bring a little bit of more grounded colors.
14:33 Simply just because you got so much silver, so many metallic colors at play, it's nice
14:37 that they actually incorporate a little bit more of a matte black added in there as well.
14:41 But all the colors are really nice and rich on this.
14:44 Parts that are red, for example, I would imagine are probably the parts that were painted.
14:48 Maybe like the silver, for example, were all the things that were initially molded in silver,
14:52 but I will say to the credit, the red is painted quite well.
14:56 There's no bleed, there's nothing that's actually found its way onto the silver next to it.
15:00 All in all, the paint is really good on these pieces.
15:03 Now for the articulation on Zoffy, going back once again to his head sculpt, the head does,
15:08 for all intents and purposes, would allow you to rotate it all the way around.
15:10 The only problem with it though, is I think the little bottom of the helmet here is the
15:14 thing that really gets in the way of preventing it from rotating all the way around.
15:17 In a perfect world though, if not for that, I would imagine you'd be able to rotate the
15:21 head all the way around.
15:22 The head looks up only about this far, the head also looks down quite a lot more.
15:26 But then the figure also has a secondary ball joint at the base of the neck, so that gives
15:30 you a little bit extra reach also as well.
15:32 Collectively really, between the two, there's a lot of mileage that you can actually get
15:36 from the head, being the fact that it has a ball joint here, and has a ball joint right
15:40 here.
15:41 Then for the top of his torso, his torso is, I feel, a little bit on the more limited side,
15:46 and I think a lot of it has to do with the way they've got the spine section sculpted
15:50 in there, and that's just based on the design of Zoffy.
15:52 But yeah, the torso does only rotate only just a little bit back and forth.
15:56 There really isn't any additional articulation.
15:58 I mean, you can rock it back and forth this way, so at least there's that.
16:01 The abdomen though, on the other hand, is really where this figure does get the chance
16:05 to shine when it comes to his posability.
16:07 You can move it down quite far and quite back also, and you can also rock it back and forth
16:11 as well.
16:12 Now for the shoulders, the shoulders are actually on hinge joints.
16:15 So first of all, you can actually bring these out too.
16:18 So if you wanted to, say, bring his arms outward, first of all, there's two hinges here at play.
16:23 There's a ball joint here, and then there's a ball joint right here.
16:26 But if you do find like the shoulders are getting in the way, it's just simply a case
16:29 of bringing those shoulders up by the hinges.
16:32 Bring the arms up to where you want to have them, and then just kind of bring the shoulders
16:35 back down.
16:36 You never have to worry that the shoulders are going to be getting in the way.
16:38 The arms rotate all the way around.
16:41 That's the case on both the sides.
16:42 You can rotate, of course, at the bicep section.
16:44 You can also hinge, double hinges at the elbows, and the hands rotate all the way around.
16:48 By the way, the whole time while I've been talking away, I'm sure you guys would be curious
16:52 as to what exactly is die cast on this.
16:54 I would imagine like the body itself is all die cast frame, but like the arms, for example,
16:58 feel like they're probably plastic.
16:59 The head obviously is plastic.
17:01 The torso is the part that really does feel the heaviest and the coolest to the touch.
17:05 So this likely feels like it's the die cast part.
17:07 And there seems to be some die cast really making up the majority of the legs also as
17:10 well.
17:11 Speaking of legs, the legs do hinge out.
17:14 Now, there are some limitations based on the way I've got it configured right now.
17:18 The legs give you about this much of a split.
17:20 If though you did want to bring the legs forward, there's a little bit of a skirting that he
17:23 has that's going to be getting a little bit in the way of things.
17:26 What you can do though, is you can drop the legs down just a little bit.
17:29 And the instructions also as well, it shows you exactly how to bring these down.
17:33 It's just a case of essentially, I don't know if you can see it inside.
17:35 Can you see it inside?
17:37 There's a ball joint right there.
17:38 And essentially what I'm doing is I'm just bringing the leg outward.
17:41 And based then on that, I can bring the leg a little bit further forward because I now
17:45 left the gap space in between the top of the thigh and the lower half of his waist.
17:50 The only thing about it though, is when you are putting the legs back in place, you want
17:52 to make sure that you push this in enough, but you don't hit the side of the skirts.
17:58 So again, you want to just kind of make sure it's brought in, but you don't want to be
18:01 rubbing against the top of this, because that could potentially chip the plastic.
18:05 The legs do swivel just only by a little bit.
18:08 There is though, however, a double hinge on the knee.
18:10 And then when it comes to his feet, the front flaps of his feet, try saying that five times
18:15 fast, do actually, if you bring these out, will allow the feet a lot more movement than
18:19 before.
18:20 You can also rock these also back and forth as well.
18:22 And there is toe articulation too.
18:24 Although I noticed with the toe articulation, there's only so far that it actually goes,
18:28 it gets almost to a point where I feel like I'm going to start to buckle the plastic.
18:32 So while there's toe articulation, this sort of this top piece right here is like covering
18:37 over everything.
18:38 So you just want to be careful of that.
18:40 All in all though, it's a fantastic looking figure.
18:42 Once again, 3-0 shows exactly why they're the kings when it comes to die cast collectibles.
18:47 The fact that this figure also sits at only $150, I can certainly understand why he sold
18:52 out as fast as he did.
18:54 But though, if you are a fan of Ultraman and big fan of the Ultraman series and would like
18:58 to get your hands on the season two Zoffy, he is available.
19:01 He's not available though, unfortunately over on their site.
19:03 They have long though since sold out of the figure, but I'm sure you probably could track
19:07 one down on other sites that sell collectibles.
19:10 If you're interested, get one for yourself.
19:12 The thing that continues to impress me about 3-0 is the fact that they're able to release
19:16 high quality collectibles like this with many at times being die cast at the price of which
19:20 they sell them for.
19:22 And right away, obviously, that's probably one of the reasons why the Ultraman suit Zoffy
19:25 sold out as fast as it did over on their website.
19:28 To sell this guy as low as they did, $149 is unheard of, considering you get essentially
19:34 a die cast figure with light up functions on both the features of the front of his face
19:38 and also the area in his chest as well.
19:40 Not to mention the included accessories.
19:42 For me personally, I would like to display this guy myself with the ultra slash effect
19:45 parts, but I do appreciate the fact that they also include the special blade effects, depending
19:49 of course on how you'd like to display the figure.
19:52 But the colors are on this guy, though only really two, the silver and the red, not to
19:56 mention of course the matte black that they've also added as well, seem to be all very well
20:00 painted on the figure.
20:01 I've never really had a problem when it comes to the paint applications that 3-0's talented
20:05 artists have ever put to these pieces.
20:07 Yeah, again, like if you guys are a fan of the Ultraman and certainly would like to get
20:10 your hand on the Zoffy suit, sad to say, unfortunately, it has since sold out over on 3-0's store,
20:16 but I'm sure again, you probably could track one down on various other online sites that
20:20 sell 3-0 pieces.
20:22 Once again, a big thank you to the folks over at 3-0 that did take the time and provide
20:25 the Ultraman season two Zoffy anime suit that we could have a look at this review.
20:30 Have you had the chance to pick it up this one for yourself?
20:32 And if you have, let me know down below in the comments section, how you have the figure
