00:00 Hi Jen, so why is gut health so important?
00:04 Gut health is absolutely fundamental to our health on so many aspects.
00:09 Whether we are dealing with issues, whether we have daily issues or big style issues like diabetes, it can help.
00:17 But it can also be fundamental in preventative health and how we have a great life, longevity and how we move forward.
00:25 Studies are showing more and more that it has a great effect on the gut-brain connection, through stress, through hormones, through the menopause.
00:33 It is a foundation to people's health and it's actually really exciting how much it can do to help.
00:39 It's not just about losing weight then is it?
00:41 No, not at all. In fact it's a by-product, it's a great by-product for some, but it's definitely not the driver.
00:47 For us it's that glow, it's that vitality and it's that deeper level of health where it can really make an impact on someone's life, down to sleep, down to how we interact, how much energy we have.
01:00 Losing weight is a by-product but it's not the driver.
01:03 And Goodwood is really focusing on gut health isn't it?
01:06 It is. We've done it since 2021 and it was off the back of Covid but it is now about how we can support people on a deeper level of health.
01:18 And they say that 80% of your immune system lies in your gut.
01:22 So for us this was a magic moment.
01:24 As we move out of Covid and as we move into this new world, how can we best support people?
01:29 And we found that gut health is the way to do that.
01:32 And people can come along on residential stays?
01:36 Yep, we run residential stays. We've got 20 coming up next year.
01:40 And it is a case you check in on a Sunday and you leave on a Thursday and throughout those days it's highly curated to your health needs.
01:49 If you don't like to wake up early, you don't have to wake up early. If you want to go to bed early you can, if you want to eat alone no problem, we're super flexible.
01:55 But it is about resetting your gut and it's all about learning the science behind it.
02:00 So by the time you walk out of our doors on Thursday you should feel better.
02:05 You will feel better, you'll look better, you'll have a glow but you'll be backed and filled with all this science that will help you moving forward.
02:12 And after you leave we check back in, we give you a call a couple of weeks later and see how you're doing and how we can support you more if you need help in other ways.
02:21 But you're not going to starve people when they come along? They get big meals don't they?
02:25 Yes, really big meals. In fact some people don't even eat everything we give them.
02:29 It's not about eating less, it's about eating well and it's eating in a way that benefits and nourishes your body.
02:36 Your body needs fuel, we just want to help you get the right fuel in.
02:40 And how much does one of these courses cost?
02:42 So £2,600, that will cover all your meals, all your food, you literally don't need anything else.
02:48 All of your spa therapies, all of the one to one, the Q&A times.
02:52 But also your moments with 12 other people on that same journey as you.
02:58 That sense of community is really powerful.
03:00 So usually by the time you leave us you feel better but you've also got 12 other gut health friends that will stay with you too.
03:06 And Goob was also offering help to people who maybe don't want to spend £2,600 or can't afford it.
03:12 What other things do you do?
03:14 So we have an amazing health club here where gut health underpins a lot of what we deliver to people.
03:20 We're going to be doing some demo dines at How Can You Cook Gut Health at Home.
03:24 It's really easy, we give you the tools and the information to do that with our executive chefs.
03:28 We'll also be running virtual events and also one night stays that are more issue led.
03:34 So if it's IBS, it is a problem for yourself, we'll give you a talk moment with the experts and then one night stay.
03:42 So you can just have a moment of reflection.
03:44 And why should people take gut health seriously?
03:48 It's a cornerstone of health.
03:52 I think how many things we're finding out through science it can affect and how it can benefit and how easy it is and how you can feel.
04:00 All comes together in a package here where you can carry it forward.
04:05 And as we learn the gut health connection, as we learn how our hormones through gut health can prevent or assist the menopause.
04:13 It's astonishing how much information lies in the gut.
04:18 Thank you.
