00:00 Welcome to the WrestleTalk News, I'm Pete Quinnell and we have a huge top story, absolutely
00:11 massive, gigantic, monstrous and very, very British.
00:15 In this year's G1 Climax tournament, Zack Sabre Jr. just debuted a new finishing submission
00:19 move, a Cobra Twist, except to go along with his other superbly British move names.
00:24 This one is called "When did they put all of the Argos inside Sainsbury's?"
00:27 I've got nothing more to add, it's a perfect move name.
00:32 If you don't get it, you're not British.
00:33 Doesn't matter.
00:34 But anywho, onto some other, obviously less important wrestling news.
00:38 As has been mentioned plenty of times at the time and since, Jimmy Uso turned on his brother
00:42 Jay at Summerslam and prevented his Use from winning both the Undisputed Universal Championship
00:47 and title of Tribal Chief.
00:49 And while maybe not many people really thought Jay was going to win the match, there was
00:53 always that little part of you that thought, "but what if?"
00:56 Turns out that little part of you was completely wrong though, you idiot, as according to Dave
01:00 Meltzer on Maguire on Wrestling, Jay Uso was never discussed to beat Roman, like, at all,
01:05 within WWE.
01:06 Granted, this feels like a little bit of a given, considering we've been hearing about
01:09 potential plans for Cody vs. Roman 2 at WrestleMania 40, and you'd assume that Roman would maybe
01:15 still have the belt for that match.
01:17 But according to Meltzer here, Jay besting Roman was never even considered a possibility,
01:21 which makes sense when you have other plans, but to not even entertain the chance of Jay
01:24 winning it and what could happen from it, I don't know, seems slightly closed minded
01:28 to me, but hey, I wasn't there.
01:29 I don't know what was said, it could have been totally fine.
01:31 I just think that Jay winning could have actually been a neat moment if they wanted it, I don't
01:35 think it would have been a bad thing necessarily, so it's surprising to me at least that they
01:39 didn't even think about it.
01:40 Meanwhile, Liv Morgan is currently out recovering from a shoulder injury, but when she comes
01:44 back we may very well be seeing a new Liv Morgan.
01:48 Aside from the other new Liv Morgans we see whenever she goes like crazy for like a week
01:52 or two.
01:53 On Instagram, Morgan posted a photo of just a bunch of hair on the floor, teasing that
01:57 her long locks may be no more when she returns to our screens.
02:00 That pile of hair is not insignificant to say the least, it's more hair than I could
02:04 ever grow, so it seems like it might be quite the drastic shake up for when she does come
02:08 back.
02:09 Hopefully she comes back soon, and I hope her recovery is going well.
02:11 And before we wrap up this news portion of the video today, some massive congratulations
02:15 are in order, because they're both massive you see, to WWE Women's World Champ Rhea
02:20 Ripley and AEW Trios Champ Buddy Matthews who revealed on Instagram that they are now
02:25 engaged!
02:26 The pair have been dating for quite a while now, and their announcement was met with an
02:29 outpouring of joy from the rest of the wrestling world.
02:32 There's lots of comments about Dominik Mysterio I could make here, but I won't because the
02:36 Instagram comments have already done them.
02:38 Sincerely though, huge congratulations to them both, I wish them nothing but happiness.
02:42 And now a word from today's sponsor.
02:47 I said and now a word from today's sponsor.
02:49 Pete, guess what?
02:51 I'm renaming the company.
02:53 Shocking news, never heard that one before.
02:55 Here's what I've got.
02:56 I think I'm caught in a time loop.
02:58 Wrestling is power.
03:00 That's WIP, it's a work in progress.
03:03 I think it's pretty much the finished article.
03:05 Undiluted solar plexus.
03:07 That's a USP.
03:09 Ok, how about energetic molecular toxicity.
03:12 EMTs.
03:13 I've got it Pete.
03:15 Violet Prism Nodules.
03:17 I get it, VPN.
03:19 Surfshark VPN is an online tool that keeps you safe wherever you browse by masking your
03:24 important information.
03:25 Which means you can check sensitive stuff like your bank account, even on public Wi-Fi.
03:30 Surfshark keeps your location and download history private and encrypted, meaning you
03:34 can send or receive files securely too, like my ongoing spreadsheet of three letter acronyms
03:38 for the company.
03:39 But on top of that, Surfshark also allows you access to any of 3,200 servers in over
03:45 100 countries, allowing you to fool your phone, laptop or tablet into thinking you're in
03:51 a different country.
03:52 Meaning you Americans can still get the old WWE Network.
03:56 I love you Superior Search Function!

04:18 Now it's time for my review of AEW Dynamite… in about 5 minutes.
04:22 The show opened on the way all pro wrestling shows should open.
04:26 Faction Admin.
04:27 All the JAS were in the ring for a mandatory meeting about whether they'll continue to
04:30 follow their leader Chris Jericho, because it seems he's going to ditch them for Dawn.
04:35 A sentiment pretty much confirmed when Jericho came out with his new Titan Chomp video exclusively
04:40 of clips of him with Don Callis.
04:42 Whether it be the crowd, the storyline or just the structure of this segment, it never
04:47 really landed the way it was supposed to.
04:49 Daniel Garcia walking out on Jericho first, but not before aggressively sexy dancing,
04:53 was a shocking way to start, but then there were… six more people to get through.
04:58 No matter how well Angela Maynard's promos were delivered, the segment quickly became
05:02 repetitive.
05:03 Kevin Guevara walked out on him last, but not forever.
05:06 If Jericho can sort out whatever he's going through, Sami might be here for him again.
05:11 We then saw Don apologise to Jericho for if he played any role in the JAS crumbling, like
05:15 he's not the main cause of it all.
05:18 And Jericho said he'll announce whether he'll be joining Don's family next week.
05:23 I'm just not into Jericho right now, so the story around him isn't grabbing me.
05:27 If I had to guess, I reckon Jericho swerves Don next week and ends up teaming with Guevara
05:31 against Tekeshta and, I don't know, Will Ospreay.
05:35 Not what I want to happen, but what I can see happening, because Jericho hasn't been
05:39 a face for a while, and everyone's gotta get on the card.
05:42 The Young Bucks then beat the Hardy Boys in the Bucks' first straight two-on-two tag
05:46 match since February.
05:47 Man and Nick Jackson haven't been missing from TV.
05:50 They've had all those trios and BCC matches.
05:53 But the focus on what they do best, tag team wrestling, has been.
05:56 So it was so good to see them wrestle here.
05:58 It didn't entirely erase that clumsy Double or Nothing Hardy's match they had last year,
06:02 but it did help a little.
06:03 Putting on the best 10 minute tag you could at this point in Matt and Jeff's career.
06:07 They had a face-to-face with FTR afterwards, confirming Bucks vs FTR 3 at All In.
06:12 CM Punk vs Kenny Omega confirmed.
06:14 AEW then started showing graphics for All In with the tagline 'The Biggest Event in
06:19 Wrestling History' - which sounds very WWE.
06:22 The biggest wrestling event in the world in wrestling history.
06:26 Wrestling.
06:27 And while the ticket sales continue on their current trajectory, it very well might be.
06:31 The best part of the show, as it has been for the last month, was the bro-chacho bromance
06:35 of the Summer MJF and Adam Cole.
06:37 We got two brilliant segments.
06:39 Firstly, Max and Cole celebrating after their match announcement last week, not by skinny
06:43 dipping with women like Max wanted, but by going to the Trampoline Park.
06:46 It's got its ups and downs.
06:48 That's an ad lib.
06:51 MJF only cheered up when he realised he could play dodgeball, where he threw balls as hard
07:07 as he could at children while saying things like 'you're adopted' or 'I slept
07:12 with your mum'.
07:13 Adam eventually realises what's happening and yells at him to stop, but a little girl
07:16 tells them two grown men shouldn't be here, and gave them the middle finger.
07:21 So Cole let Max throw the ball at her too.
07:23 The continued punchline at the end of these skits of Cole actually being bad, possibly
07:27 more bad than Max deep down, isn't getting old.
07:32 Getting bloodline treatment, i.e. loads of segments on the same show, not going on for
07:36 way too long, sucks for everyone else, but really does enhance their story.
07:39 So MJF and Cole came out for another great odd couple in-ring promo, where Max misunderstood
07:44 and went way too hard in what he thought was a jokey good nature promo battle.
07:48 Fun, but a little bit of tension there.
07:50 Cole then showed just how incredible his act with MJF is.
07:53 They somehow made me excited about the ROH Tag Team Championships.
07:57 Cole put over ROH.
07:58 That's the promotion that made him, and the modern style of wrestling we all enjoy
08:02 today.
08:03 Not NXT, you latecomer hipsters.
08:05 That's you, Pete.
08:07 He won every championship there.
08:09 Apart from the tag titles.
08:12 And seeing everyone wants him and Max to be a tag team, why don't they wrestle for those
08:16 belts on the All In Pre-Show - which MJF eventually agreed to with the help of cheap pops.
08:22 Roderick Strong wasn't so pleased, though, playing the deranged jealous best friend brilliantly.
08:26 But maybe MJF's promo went too hard on him too, and Cole shoved Max back.
08:30 MJF had that flash of anger again.
08:32 But they hugged it out.
08:34 This is so incredibly entertaining, not just enjoying it in the moment, but also the countless
08:39 directions they can take this.
08:41 MJF and Cole as ROH Tag Team Champions, setting up an ROH tag feud down the line with the
08:46 Kingdom.
08:47 Those matches will be awesome, and hopefully elevate Kanellis and Taven.
08:51 Some wrestlers in their advanced years hide themselves in multi-man matches, or, in Sting's
08:55 case, jumping off the highest thing he can find.
08:58 But RVD, at 52 years young, just went out there and had an RVD match against Jack Perry.
09:03 He played all the hits.
09:05 Rolling Thunder, chair surfing dropkicks, a five star frog splash, but Perry accidentally
09:10 hit the referee with a chair, which very satisfyingly then got stuck on the top rope somehow.
09:14 So RVD's winning pin was missed, adding Perry had a low blow and tight grab to retain
09:19 the FTW title.
09:20 I hope we see more of RVD.
09:22 And I don't want to see too many more of those tight grabbing finish-oh, there's
09:25 one in the next match.
09:26 I don't want to sound too picky, because Moxley and Claudio vs the Lucha Bros was a
09:30 lot of fun, but Mox won by grabbing Penta's tights in a roll-up.
09:33 Apologies if the BCC have won that way before, but it just sits a bit off with me for the
09:37 point of their faction.
09:39 Contractions, yes, bloody weapons, try and stop 'em.
09:42 Low blows, give me all you got.
09:44 But technical pinning is such a big focus of their training, I don't want Mox winning
09:47 like this.
09:48 It likely means the three-way feud of the Lucha Bros and Best Friends will continue,
09:52 and Claudio took credit for PAC's unfortunate real life injury, which will put him out of
09:56 the Wembley show.
09:57 Kenny Omega said he'll reveal his Wembley plans next week in a sit-down interview with
10:01 JR.
10:02 Sting could only be gone for two weeks of TV, and I'll probably still pop for his
10:05 return.
10:06 I'll go to the Mogul Embassy and challenge them, along with Darby Allin, to a match at
10:15 Wembley.
10:16 I reckon we could get Darby, Sting and Nick Wayne against Fox, Swerve and Cage.
10:20 While Sting will likely head acrossbody off Big Ben.
10:49 Let me continue the joke.
10:50 So even though we've just confirmed that's not the match, I think this still works.
10:57 Where Sting will likely hit acrossbody off Big Ben.
11:01 No, that's Big Bill.
11:03 But they do have something in common.
11:06 They're both bellends.
11:08 Now I'll tell you why that's a good joke.
11:13 Common misconception is Big Ben is the name of the whole clock tower, when in fact it's
11:17 just a bell that chimes on the hour.
11:20 And a bellend is slang for penis.
11:22 And the main event saw the usual quarter past the second hour women's segment moved to
11:26 the last ten minutes of the show.
11:28 Progress, kind of.
11:30 Sheida took on Anna Jay in a ten minute match that was almost half a commercial break.
11:34 They didn't get long enough to make it feel like a Dynamite quality main event.
11:37 And it appears they were told to wrap things up early, as Angelo Parker still tried to
11:41 do a near-falls spot that the referee ignored.
11:43 I guess two consecutive weeks of main events for the women's division is great on paper,
11:47 but in reality they still feel like lipstick service, lacking the same focus on character
11:51 and storyline given to the male wrestlers.
11:53 Sheida will advance to the four way at All In to defend her title, so this was probably
11:57 the most predictable outcome of the whole show too.
12:00 This week's Dynamite is 74%.
12:03 WWE cuts are reportedly coming, watch on to find out more!
