00:00 Hello. Hello. It's the great bear debate. People around the world can't get enough of those bears at a zoo in China that stand up straight.
00:10 But many are convinced this show off was really a human in a bear costume.
00:15 They're called sun bears, named for the sun-like marking around its neck.
00:19 And we can now once and for all assure you they are real.
00:23 And to prove it, we found a sun bear right here in America.
00:27 Meet Casey, the only sun bear at the Tampa Zoo.
00:30 Sun bears are the smallest of all the bear species. They can be a little bit silly.
00:36 Zookeeper Amanda Powers works with 22-year-old Casey every day.
00:41 They can certainly stand on those back legs, and Casey does do that.
00:44 Sun bears are extremely rare. There are only 2,000 of them in the world.
00:49 And those waves and claps? Amanda says those are tricks they were taught.
00:53 And what about that wrinkled backside? It sure does look like an ill-fitting bear costume.
00:58 Well, we don't body shame our sun bears here at Zoo Tampa.
01:02 However, they do tend to have wrinkly, kind of saggy-looking behinds.
