00:00 >> In terms of guys who are both returning and guys who've added,
00:04 what's different by way of expectations from them now in camp and
00:09 right even out the chute?
00:11 Because you're not talking about second or even third year guys,
00:13 you're talking about sixth year guys and fourth year guys.
00:16 >> Yeah, I think I've walked into a really good situation here.
00:19 With the guys who started last year and
00:21 the additions that we made from the transfer portal.
00:23 I think we've got a lot of talent, some experienced guys who've played in real
00:25 games, in hostile environments.
00:28 They've been through a couple of fall camps before as a group.
00:31 We're helping each other, they're helping me grow.
00:33 I'm helping them grow, trying to help them be better players than they were last
00:37 year, and I think it's been good so far, really good.
00:40 >> Do you prefer field boundary or do you go left, right?
00:44 >> During camp, we're doing left, right.
00:45 Right now, teaching guys left, right,
00:47 just so we can get the best guys on the field at all times.
00:50 But there may be some times that you go field boundary,
00:52 just depending on the guy's skill set.
00:53 Right now, we're kind of playing left, right.
00:55 >> Are there specific skill sets needed to play one side or the other right now?
01:00 >> No, it's really not.
01:00 I tell you, we got some guys that got a lot of different skill sets.
01:03 So it's kind of right now, it's like there's no one who is,
01:06 sometimes you do have a guy who has a deficiency.
01:08 But I haven't really seen any out of our guys so far.
01:11 They're all adjusting and doing both.
01:13 And so we haven't really put a lot of thought into who's best field of boundaries.
01:16 A lot of times it depends on where the call is.
01:18 >> In spring, I think you said Steve was the guy who was maybe most comfortable
01:20 making the calls and stuff like that.
01:22 Has that changed at all?
01:23 You feel like guys have caught up?
01:24 >> No, I think a lot of the guys are comfortable making the call.
01:26 I think Steve's done a great job, obviously.
01:29 He's been here for a long time.
01:30 I don't know if it's five or six years.
01:31 It's been for a while.
01:31 So he's played a lot of football.
01:33 Brian Addison has done a great job.
01:35 And then Tashim and Evan, those guys have done a great job.
01:38 But our freshmen, Cole, Cody DeCambry, Tyler Turner, those guys have really,
01:43 Colin, they've called on really, really fast, a lot faster than I thought they would.
01:46 Cuz we've got a lot of volume into our defense.
01:48 But they've done a good job of adjusting and
01:51 they've been here throughout the summer, so it's been good for them.
01:53 >> Any surprises so far in what you've seen out of these guys?
01:56 >> Nothing too crazy.
01:57 I mean, no one has really surprised me yet.
01:59 I mean, we've got a lot of guys competing.
02:00 That's something I really can say.
02:01 I mean, it hasn't been any just one surprise.
02:04 I didn't think they couldn't do it.
02:06 But they're all kinda stepping up and competing amongst each other and
02:08 making a lot of plays in practice.
