00:00 [Crying]
00:05 Ms. Edlyn's peace was up to heaven
00:08 because until now, her son is still not seen as a member of the Philippine Coast Guard.
00:15 Her son is one of the four PCG personnel who conducted a rescue operation in Cagayan River
00:22 during the earthquake in Apari, Cagayan.
00:26 But in the midst of the disaster, their aluminum boat broke down due to the strong winds and waves.
00:33 We felt the pain.
00:35 [Crying]
00:39 It was so slow, sir, what they did to the PCG.
00:43 Her eldest son, Lester Renz Campo, is only 27 years old.
00:49 He joined the Philippine Coast Guard in 2020.
00:52 He is a kind and hopeful son.
00:56 To ease his anxiety about his son, he only shows him pictures of him being hugged and petted every day.
01:05 He's a good son. That's all I want. He's just a bad boy.
01:10 Meanwhile, Ms. Marilu was amazed while being petted by the calm Cagayan River and the strong Babuyan Strait.
01:19 This is what she does almost every day since her son, a PCG member, passed away.
01:26 I hope they are all safe. I hope they can return.
01:32 I'm talking to the sea. Even so, they are still in good condition.
01:39 Her eldest son, Rodel Ritarita Grado, is also with her.
01:45 He is 27 years old. He is one of four missing PCG personnel in Apari.
01:51 According to Ms. Marilu, Rodel is hoping that his father will just pass away last year.
01:59 He wants his siblings to be safe. He wants us to have a good life.
02:06 That's all I'm hoping for.
02:10 She is still hoping that her son will be with her again.
02:14 Whatever happens, I can't do it, sir. I might die if my son is gone.
02:22 The PCG's search and rescue, foot patrol, and aerial search continues.
02:28 Cagayan PDRRMO, PNP Maritime, and Office of the Civil Defense are all in action.
02:35 The first thing they saw in the sea of Calayan and Fuga Island was an aluminum boat that was used by four missing PCG personnel.
02:43 Our search and rescue operations are still ongoing.
02:47 When the four missing PCG personnel were caught, our rescuers left the island.
02:57 In the sixth time, they will again search and rescue the islands of Kamiguin, Fuga, Calayaan, Babuyan, and Ritigatin.
03:07 We will do everything we can to help them. We will find the right people to judge them.
03:15 Just like the connection of Cagayan River and Babuyan Strait,
03:21 the parents of Edlyn and Marilu are hoping that their children will be reunited with their loved ones
03:29 so that they can be together again in the future.
03:33 From Aparih, Cagayan, Noel Talacay for the nation.
