00:00 Kim Kardashian reacts after a TikToker claims Skims shapewear saved her life after being shot.
00:06 Earlier this year, TikToker Angelina Wiley recounted being injured while wearing a
00:11 bodysuit from the line. She says in the clip, "Kim Kardashian saved my life. This New Year's,
00:17 I got shot four times. The night I got shot under my dress, I was wearing a Skims shaping
00:23 bodysuit. It was so tight on me that it literally kept me from bleeding out."
00:28 And in a follow-up TikTok posted July 15th, Angelina says of the bodysuit,
00:32 "It was so sad because that was the first day I got to wear it."
00:36 As for Kim, she took notice of Angelina's video detailing her experience and reposted the clip
00:41 to her Instagram stories with the caption, "Wow" and the praying hands emoji, "Per Forbes."
00:47 And after a fellow TikToker commented about Kim's repost,
00:51 Angelina responded that she still can't believe the repost happened.
00:55 According to local outlet KCTV, Angelina was one of two people caught in the crosshairs of gunfire
01:01 near a food truck in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident left her with multiple injuries,
01:06 including a ruptured bladder and a cracked pelvis. The second victim also sustained
01:10 life-threatening injuries. Kim co-founded Skims in 2019, and according to the New York Times,
01:16 the company has gone on to become a multi-billion-dollar business as of July 2023.
01:22 In March 2022, Skims made it to Time's list of the 100 most influential companies of the year.
01:27 Fellow celebs have also appeared in marketing campaigns for the brand, including Paris Hilton,
01:33 Megan Fox, Becky G, Teyana Taylor, and former Victoria's Secret Angels Heidi Klum,
01:38 Alessandra Ambrosio, Tyra Banks, and Candace Swanepoel.
01:42 As for Angelina, one commenter on her original video suggests she and Skims should do a collab,
01:47 and the Kansas City native responds, "I'm praying." She also adds in the video of the,
01:52 in her case, life-saving shapewear, "I recommend it. I'm definitely gonna buy some more. I mean,
01:57 I should wear it every day. It's like body armor for women." She also jokes,
02:02 "Call it fate or Jesus, but I'mma call it Kim."
