Australian appointed as a trainee astronaut with ESA

A 34-year-old Australian scientist has been picked as a trainee astronaut with the European Space Agency. Dr Meganne Christian is among 11 people selected in a reserve pool along with the first para-astronaut John McFall and while she's likely to have to wait a while for a mission into space Dr Christian says that could quickly change.
