PHILADELPHIA, PA -- James Harden spoke to the media for the first time since he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers last Thursday. In Tuesday's Press Conference James Harden told reporters: “Originally, when I was going through everything I was going through in Houston, Philly was my first choice." The 76ers traded Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two first-round picks to Brooklyn for James Harden and Paul Millsap. MORE QUOTES FROM HARDEN BELOW:

“ Philly was my first choice. It just didn’t happen. I knew for a very long time this was a perfect fit. You have the best big man in the league in Joel (Embiid)."

On the Kyrie Irving situation was "very minimal" in terms of his wanting out, but "it definitely impacted the team ... it's unfortunate that we played 16 games... here in Philly is an opportunity I'm looking forward to."

On moving on from the Rockets and Nets: “We can control our own destiny. I needed to be around guys that I know want to win and are willing to do whatever it takes to win."
