This year, however, the Khandagiri fair is being celebrated without devotees An order issued by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation states that the Kovid Security Protocol will allow the Magh Saptami Mela to be held inside the temple as per the usual rules without the participation of devotees. No temporary stalls have been set up for the sale of religious congregations, festivals, operas, various items under the BMC order. The decision was made in the interest of public safety
#Udayagiri (Kumarigiri or Suryodaya hills) and Khandagiri (Kumaragiri or Bhanga hills) are located face to face on the road about 8 km west of Bhubaneswar. The tourist attraction is reminiscent of Buddhism and Jainism in Odisha, with 18 caves at 135 feet high in Udayagiri built by King Kharbel and 15 caves at 118 feet high in Khandagiri.
