唐僧师徒到五庄观投宿。清风、明月两位道童奉师父镇元大仙之命，将两枚人参果捧送给唐僧。因果型酷似婴儿，唐僧不敢食用。八戒怂恿悟空到园中偷来人参果，师兄弟一起分享。二道童发现少了仙果，责骂唐僧师徒。悟空一怒，推倒了人参果树。当夜，师徒四人匆匆离去，却被从弥罗宫回来的镇元大仙用法术将他们捉回去。悟空答应寻遍仙方，医治果树。
