A man who went overboard in the Pacific Ocean was reportedly able to use his jeans to keep from drowning, reports Sky News. Arne Murke and his brother were recently transporting a yacht from New Zealand to Brazil and encountered rough seas not long into the journey, according to the New Zealand Herald.  Insider reports that Murke was knocked overboard when the vessel's mainsheet broke loose. His brother threw him a life jacket, but he could not get to it.  Murke said he remembered a US Navy Seal trick for turning jeans into a flotation device. He quickly took off his pants, tied off the legs and inflated them with air before submerging them in water.  It worked, and Murke was able to stay afloat for the hours it took a rescue helicopter to find and reach him.
