The Kolkata Municipal Corporation has been in trouble recently also due to a billboard scam where the details of non payment worth around Rs 16 crore was deleted from the accounts. The non-payment of the private companies were deleted allegedly so that they could participate in a fresh round of tenders for advertising and putting up billboards in the city.
