The Congress-NCP government in Maharashtra decided on Thursday not to press new criminal charges against politicians indicted by the Adarsh inquiry commission for violation of rules while granting various clearances to the infamous housing society. The CBI is already probing the case. The state government, at its cabinet meeting, decided to accept the Adarsh inquiry commission's report partially and admitted that many rules were violated while granting permissions to the promoters of promoters of the Adarsh society to build a 31-storey building in Mumbai's Colaba area.
