1. When King Dhritharashtra cautiously asked Sanjaya about the happenings on the battlefield, Sanjaya replied with a smile.
2. The second stanza delivered as follows;
|| Sanjaya Uvacha: Drshtva Tu Pandavanikam Vyudham Duryodhanas tada|
Acharyam Upasangamya Raja Vachanamabhravit ||
3. This stanza can be roughly translated as;
Sanjaya said :- On seeing the army of Pandavas arranged in military scores, King Duryodhana moved towards his respected teacher, Dronacharya and spoke these words.
4. In the third stanza, King Duryodhana said;
||Pashyaitam Pandu-putranam Acarya Mahatim Chamum
Vyudham Drupada-putrena Tava Sishyena Dheemata||
5. O respected teacher, behold this mighty army of the Pandavas, aligned in military scores by the son of Drupada and your intelligent disciple, Dhristadyumna.
6. One might get confused listening to these words of Duryodhana as mere blabbering.
7. Duryodhana’s intentions were to provoke Dronacharya through his words, by which he reminded him of his past conflict with King Drupada
8. He indicated in his words that, the army standing before him, is led by Dhristadyumna, who was born because of the deep penance of Drupada carried out in order to kill Dronacharya.
