1 In response to Krishna’s call to action, Arjuna points at a sentimental issue by raising a question.



2 In the fourth stanza Arjuna says;

Arjuna Uvacha

Katham Bhishmam Aham Sankhye Droonam Cha Madhusudhana |

Isubhih Pratiyotsyami Pujarhavari-Sudhana ||4||

3 In this stanza Arjuna tells Lord Krishna;

O Madhusudhana, how can I shoot arrows in battle at Bhishma and Dronacharya, who are worthy of my worship?

4 In the fifth stanza Arjuna further says;

Guran Ahatva hi Mahanubhavam Shreyo Bhaktum Bhaishyamapiha Loke |

Hatvartha-Kamams Tu Gurun Ihaiva Bhunjiya Bhogan Rudhira-Pradigdhan ||5||



5 This stanza can be translated as ;

It would be better to live in this world by begging rather than taking the life of our noble elders. Otherwise, by killing our superiors, we shall enjoy the wealth and pleasures that will be drenched in their blood.
