Japan’s premier league is back and it’s full of surprises…

With plenty of goals and shock upsets this week…

In Round Two of the J-League.

The 2018 season kicked off last week and it was business as usual for Kawasaki Frontale. The reigning champions picked up where they left off, recording an emphatic opening round win over Jubilo Iwata.

J1 newcomers V-Varen Nagaski suffered a 2-1 defeat in their introduction to the top flight, falling to another of the newly promoted sides, Shonan Bellmare.

While Nagoya Grampus looked right at home in their return to J1 with a 3-2 win over Gamba Osaka.

And Sanfrecce Hiroshima got their campaign off to a promising start thanks to a lone goal from Thai striker Teerasil Dangda.

At the conclusion of Round One, Kawasaki Frontale edged ahead on goal difference, over the rest of the chasing pack.

And the defending champions got the ball rolling in Round Two.
