Police are investigating after a man in his 40's was shot dead last night by police marksmen after apparently firing at officers in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. A man has been shot dead by police after officers were called to a house in Cambridgeshire. Concerns for people inside the property, in Duck Lane, St Neots, were reported on Wednesday evening. The man, believed to be in his 40s, was shot by a firearms officer just after 20:00 BST and died at the scene. No-one else was injured. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has begun an investigation. A spokesman for the watchdog said the man's next of kin had been informed and the area would remain cordoned off "for some time" while IPCC investigations took place.
