Melissa Sandoval has been immersed in the world of music all her life. The New York City native began singing at the age of seven and blossomed into a musician in her early school years on piano and trombone. Singing remained her primary focus and she strengthened her craft with vocal lessons. Melissa performed with various bands in her preteen years at local bars and night clubs around the city. She often had to fight for the opportunity to perform in those venues, since she was only a minor.
Melissa attended the Talent Unlimited High School in Manhattan, and in addition to taking vocal instruction she branched out into musical theater and joined the school jazz band. Outside of school she was equally successful with her band. She opened up a major concert for Latin American sensation Aventura in Long Island, later performed before 3,000 spectators at the Central American Festival and was booked to perform at the Hispanic Heritage parade in New York City.
Melissa continued to perform in New York City during college and after moving to Florida with her family she soon found herself delving into songwriting. She taught herself to play guitar and has written enough songs for two full albums. She currently has an album in production, a mix of contemporary American, Latin, Rock and Popular music. She especially enjoys combining elements of Electronic music into her productions.
When the traveling Vietnam Wall visited Broward County in 2012, Melissa was invited to pay homage to our nation’s heroes by performing Classic Rock and Soul selections from the Vietnam War era along with the National Anthem. She also recently performed on the hit Univision TV show Sabado Gigante. Melissa will perform at Churchill's Pub in Miami for the 9th annual Femme Fest Music Festival.
