Ashland, Oregon native Carolyne Neuman (now based in Los Angeles) teamed up with producer Lee Miles (Oh My Stars, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Puddle of Mudd) to form NOVI. Their quirky and creative personalities emerge through several collaborative albums - Neuman’s lyrics and vocals guided by Miles’ songwriting and production expertise.
NOVI’s songs are equally vibrant and soulful, ranging from quirky bass-heavy electro-pop to penetrating melodies. NOVI’s “All the Way” appeared on the hit television series ‘One Tree Hill’ and “Make a Scene” was featured on MTV’s ‘Faking It.’
While NOVI’s bent may be lyrical electro pop, she insists on taking creative risks to avoid being cast in any kind of “pop” mold. Her commitment to exploring musical genres has been artistically liberating, yielding rap induced dance rhythms, remixed classics with a soulful spin and synthesized backdrops… and only time will tell what else.
Most recently, NOVI’s been working on a new project with producers Miles and Republic Records artist “Stelouse”. The first single, “Long Day,” is an epic pop anthem duet featuring longtime friend Tyler Blackburn (actor most known for ‘Pretty Little Liars’). Stelouse’s creative influence adds a dynamic spin to “Long Day” which sets the tone for a richly textured album both instrumentally and lyrically.
NOVI is currently licensed on multiple up and coming television series. Stay tuned for updates.
