Trent Williams is a Sydney based folk/pop artist. His debut release 'Stories from our Times' (affectionately 'Stories') was released in May 2017.

Trent takes influence from songwriters such as Paul Simon and Bob Dylan. His musicality is similar to that of Passenger, Boy and Bear or Vance Joy

‘Stories From Our Times' is a line taken from the single ‘Annie’ but relates closely to each of the 5 songs or stories on Trent’s EP, “each song is a story about an interaction or a relationship”.

Debut single ‘What Do You Call a Man’ was premiered in January on roots blog ’Timber and Steel'. It has received airplay on national radio station Triple J and has been picked up by many community radio stations. The track was also featured by Spotify and international music blog, Indie Feed.

Trent’s follow up single ‘Annie’ is inspired by Bob Dylan’s ‘Annie’s Going to Sing Her Song’. The song continues the story started many years before by Dylan himself. Although the main character’s life is tragically ended too soon by a falling tree the song is upbeat and gives the overall message of ‘better to have loved and lost that to not have loved at all’. The track has a Mumford and Sons feel over the top of crafty lyrics. The film clip has been directed and produced by Joshua Searle and beautifully hints at lines from the song.

The rest of the EP is memorable and heartfelt, each story being individual but following on from the last creating ‘Stories From Our Times’.

"...(Trent's) songs just have this really raw sort of, nice personality" - Amnplify

"...with his gentle vocals and magical acoustics, Williams has proven that with effort and persistence, he can create art with music diversity and positive impact" - Spotlight Report
