BONJAH have started off 2012 in a big way. The band saw in the New Year at Pyramid Rock Festival, played the Big Day Out and sold out their national summer tour. The rest of the year will see BONJAH head off on their 'Fall Together' single tour, the band's last East Coast Australian headline shows for 2012 before heading straight over to the UK to play 2 shows in London. Upon return the band will be writing and recording in preparation for their 3rd album.
Multi award nominated BONJAH have been a band since 2006 when the now much-loved four piece moved from New Zealand to Melbourne. Since then BONJAH's powerhouse performances are reputed to be amongst the most talked about shows in the country.
The band's music is a blend of soulful rock. With street buzz hitting fever pitch the band have received numerous nods from the music industry, over 500 shows under their belt, CD sales clocked in at over 22,000 units (independently) and appeared at many of Australia's premier music festivals.
BONJAH released their highly anticipated second album 'Go Go Chaos' on Friday 15th July 2011. Of no surprise the album immediately hit the charts with a blast reaching #4 on the iTunes alternative album chart and #6 on the AIR Charts for albums with independent distribution as well as landing in the top 40 on the overall iTunes album chart.
'Go Go Chaos' is a sonically beautiful album filled with a collection of honest songs that take you on a journey through ups and downs, from lust to despair and highlights the band's masterful song writing abilities and producer Steven Schram's outstanding recording style. With singles 'Something We Should Know', 'The White Line' and 'Go Go Chaos' on rotation on Triple J, see for yourself why Rolling Stone nominated BONJAH for the 2011 'Artist To Watch' award!
'Go Go Chaos' out now on iTunes (Worldwide) and in stores (Australia and
New Zealand) through Shock Entertainment.
