In late 2013, a four-piece rock band formed in Calgary AB, under the name Ten Minute Detour. Less than two months after finding each other using popular classified ad site, Kijiji, the group released their self-titled three track EP. By November of 2014, with several shows under the belt, including an opening spot for One Bad Son, the band recorded their first full-length album entitled, Lay It Down. From this album, Four Papers was released as the bands first single. Combining garage rock and blues, Four Papers showcased lead singer, Andrew Shier’s, song writing ability and vocal range. There is a stillness around the four young members of Ten Minute Detour. An easygoing yet anxious vibe runs through the group. Just sitting in the same room with the band gives you the feeling that these guys are always waiting, each as poised as the next, to get back on the stage where they belong and do what they love most.
